Thought about it but never tried it. Post up your experience with it if you do go for it though. I'd like to know how they turn out.

I did Home Chef for 3 days, was a gift. Recipes were great, food quality was great. I would reccomend if that sort of service makes life easier for your particular situation.

We got 3 meals for free from a friend. Food was good. Its nice to try id say cause you can try the recipe out and keep the recipe card for future use. If you botch a recipe you never gotta use it again

I'm not sure I understand if I have to choose from 8 recipes a week, or if I can choose any recipe I want. And if I don't want anything that week, I think it can be skipped, for up to 5 weeks.

The recipe section is worth looking at. A lot of info, tips, and comments. The recipes can be d/led in .pdf as well.

I noticed that. May have to try a few of them. I’m just not thrilled with their choices they have listed for the weeks.

I've used it for almost a year and I love it especially during the winters when its dark so early I dont wanna run to the store after I get off work. Food is fresh and recipes are good. I do not use it during the summers as I like to smoke and grill to much to need a food service. Oh and I effing love cooking so that helps out.

I'm still on the fence, but they have sent me coupons for 40 bucks off on the 1st order, so I may go for it.

We did Hello Fresh for about a year and quit this fall. Not because we weren't happy with the company but just because we got burnt out on it. Even though there are several menu items alot of them share a flavor so even though it's different it still tastes a little like the other ones. Not sure if I'm making sense... Alot of the recipes used a vinegar of some sort and various wine or Sherry flavored mixes. It just kinda got old. I will say the meat they use is spectacular. We got a burger recipe in one of the kits and to this day it was the best hamburger I have ever ate. Period. It was amazing. We may start back up soon. We DID save money according to the wife's spread sheets. About $30 a month actually. The only downsides are there are never any leftovers (which I use as my lunches at work for the most part). I just got in the habit of making a sandwich or buying something frozen. It was a great experience. Definitely worth the try. With Hello Fresh we also had a couple situations where one of the meats or veggies went bad and they always gave us all or some of our $ back. No hassles. Give it a go!

My wife and I did it while I was in the Corps... I was gone during the day and would come home really late so there wasn't a lot of time to go grocery shopping and this allowed us to cook together and spend quality time... you pick the meals, they're delivered and you follow the recipe.

You can try a lot of things that you normally wouldn't order at a restaurant, cook things the way you want and get to experience some cool meals that you can save for later. Another plus about them delivering the exact amount of whatever ingredient is if it's something you wouldn't normally eat you're not buying a "bushel" and only using a little bit for the meal and then wasting a bunch.

I'd say it'd be good to try, especially if you got a coupon to go with it. If you don't like it or grow tired of it then cancel the subscription!

I think bottom line is that these things work, definitely not a rip off and some things are great, but it depends on your situation as to where or not it works for you.

Exactly. At first when the wife ordered it I was like what a rip off! Then you see what you get, the minimal waste and the ease of it. It's a solid deal. Plus, it was all or mostly organic and the majority of them were very healthy dinners. Something we are not good at planning...

And the meat quality... top notch. No bs to deal with, already trimmed and prepped ready to go.

    back to bone stock.
    i'm a mutant.

i like hitting up the stores to buy ingredients. i love me some farmer's markets. one of my favorite things to do is to eat at a restaurant and try to recreate the dish..at least flavor wise.

Some recipes have a spice or ingredient that I don't have and probably never heard of. And may not like. So the thought of getting a taste intrigues me. Saves cash too I think, coz no 'stuff' I will never use again.

Pulled the trigger, 1st order today. Tried garlic & soy glazed shrimp with charred broccoli & hot green pepper sauce. Wife gave a full 5 of 5, me 4.5. I'm saving the 5 :). Time to cook says 40-50 minutes, took her well over an hour. While my buddy that stopped by and me had a drink or 3. :thumbsup:I'm quite pleased, I hope the next 2, and the next 3 next week don't disappoint.
AND... they offered $25 off for the 1st 2 boxes. Makes it $5.83 per meal.
