Hey guys, just sold my dad my 2017 TRD OR DCLB w premium tech pkg+Jbl and bought his 2010 DCLB Sport. Just did the OME medium kit with Dakar’s and 885s. Also, swapped my wheels and tires over from the 3rd gen... SCS Ray10 on BFG KO2 E 265/75/16, and of course has TRD catback. Turned out great! Very happy with the setup. Looking for people around south sound/Puyallup to meet up with/camp/whatever.

Dad wanted a new truck so we traded and the 2nd gen is way cheaper obviously.

The 4.0 tows better and the shifting is way better than the 3rd gen as well. I tow a boat a lot on 3+ hr trips.

4.0 makes it's torque lower in the rev range

Exactly. I live near mountains and hills everywhere. Nothing is flat where I live and I’d rather not rev to the moon. But that’s just part of reason for the switch.

Supposedly an intake spacer lowers the rev range of peak torque on a 2.7, something I’ll try soon hopefully, I have to wind it up pretty high it seems, I wonder about that for the new v6

Lol those don't do shit since the invention of fuel injection. That's for carburetors only and anyone who tells you otherwise either wants to sell you one or is an idiot

I used to have a 4banger. Best bang per buck short of forced induction is the LCE long tube header.

Also search function yields plenty of resources on all that:thumbsup:

Haha of course I will have to learn more before I pull the trigger, thanks for the dose of skepticism. And yes to the header that’s higher on the list than the spacer for sure. Search function FTW no shit buddy

Also I just noticed you have the same tires as me, khumo at51 right? Nice
Edit: had a few drinks, read my own profile description, thought ‘this guy has the same tires!’

I would of never thought to buy a tacoma w the 4cylinder.

I just go for the reliable v6, and u don’t ever need bolts ons etc.

And if the v6 isn’t enough.. well I guess u need a tundra then. Lol

I thought you meant a throttle body spacer... didn't know what these were but those "gains" look they could be within the margin of error that's how minimal they are and IMHO neither worth the money nor the time/effort to install.
Just turbo it or trade for V6.
If that 4banger works hard the gas mileage goes right out the window anyway. Trust me I've been there

That "kit" looks like it works the same concept as velocity stacks on a motorcycle. Odd.
