Well like the title says I blew my driverside caliper hardline on the interstate last week when travelling through Oakland. Luckily I was able to deke through a few cars and my buddy ran interference with his 4runner until I could grab some gears and slow and eventually stop. We bent up some spare line on the side of the road and I made the nearly 2000 mile drive home like that. Now I've gotten my hands on some SS line to replace everything with. The theory is I somehow hit the hard line with a rock on Rubicon and it failed a couple days later. Anyways the only SS lines I could get are female female so I got adapters 3an - 10x1.0 I can't find many taco guys doing This in the front eliminating the hard and soft lines to the frame. So I based it off the spare hard lines that came off an 85 axle. just kinda looking for confirmation that I'm on the right track before I Rip it all apart

    Cheers

Glad you got your truck stopped safely and made it home okay. That is one hell of a roadside fix but it got you home, good job!

Thats good info to have. I carry one of the stock female ends with the tube removed and the center hole welded up for this exact repair. It sucks to try and wrestle with the steering with only 1 front caliper but it is better than nothing.

I am planning on running equal length SS lines on my rear axle instead of the hard lines. Then in an emergency I could take one of them and move it to the broken front line and use a plug for the rear line.
