Right on, I'll add a link to this in the sticky.
Did you have any notes on road condition (gravel / mud / hill climbs / water) and general difficulty (stock 2WD / mild 4WD / needs experience) ?

Had to open up an old thread...

attempted Slab Camp to Fat Smittys, but ended up missing the immediate right turn on FS 2905. I saw there was a closed gate about five minutes away, anyway following to Woods rd brings you down to 101 near the Jamestown Longhouse Chevron. Trail was great condition, 2WD the whole trip, plenty of small SUV types on the road.

Welcome to TW! Great first post... I’ve never seen this old one, now I wanna go explore on the peninsula. It’s one of the places in this state I’ve barely been through. I just didn’t really know where to go.

    Nice, I'm in Lacey now!
The top snow picture is in the Capitol National Forest (Olympia) Just a run up to
check things out that is close to home.
The second picture is Jefferson Lake off of Hoodsport on the Olympic Peninsula. This is a great ride, the hoodsport River is crystal clear and there are multiple hiking trails and lakes.
The third is on a back trail into the forest off Rainier Hwy.

Take FS-29, also known as the A-road from 101 a little west of Lake Crescent. The road is one of my favorites with nice views from the ridgeline. It'll take you over to Forks and then you can drive 101 back to PA.

Nice thread resurrection. I’ll have to check these out. I’ve only gone up near my neck of the woods on east side of Olympics and Tahuya area.

This is a great Thread!! I'll have to check that stuff out on the north side. Just spent NYE off of the 27 rd, lots of good little dead ends that require 4WD to get to awesome camp spots.

@TopQuark- We're also in Shelton and our default is going out Skok valley rd and up FS 23. Once you're up in there you can find cool peaks, pristine headwaters, nice lakes and even the ocean if you drive far enough. Love all the stuff we have to explore right out of town.

Hamma hamma road has some cool stuff off of it, as well as the roads up out of Quilcene that have been mentioned. Feels like there are endless backroads to explore out there.

Nice! There's some interesting stuff out there, including the Vance Creek Bridge, Spider lake and if you don't mind a few more pin stripes, Dusk Point is a great high point. Then dropping down onto the wynoochee side opens up a whole other area. But I'm giving too much away....grab a nice FS map and start up the truck!!
