@CaliRaisedLed how much do your stiffners stick out past the wheel wells? I like the look of yours but I am planning a set of be drawers to go between the wheel wells. Is it possible to trim the stiffners so a drawer would clear them?

We have people running our Bed stiffeners with the Decked system.

Another noteworthy difference is that the total chaos stiffeners come powdercoated... not sure if that is an option with the alternatives.

I have a set of total chaos stiffeners that I bought for my second gen that I'd like to sell if anyone is interested. I'm not sure if they're the same as the 16+. I'd like to get $125 for them. Brand new in box.

What is the benefit to adding bed stiffeners?

I am right here.. I have NEVER had an issue with bed flex.... even with a all cast iron 440 with accessories ,a 727 torque flight, jacks, and tools in the back.

If you wheel or have something like a rear cage system/tent/heavy bed cap/etc the composite bed and metal frame and can bent out of shape often resulting in issues with the tailgate not locking up correctly or at all - bed stiffeners do just that - secure up the area to keep everything framed correctly.

I have had my bed overloaded with roughly 2000lbs of stuff and a shell for 3600 miles. I think that is a pipedream.

This. We are not talking about a super expensive or difficult mod here. If I could install it, literally anyone (even non-homo sapiens) can do it. It is modestly priced easy insurance.

I did it because I will be overlanding and I have the Diamondback HD cover on there and might run stuff on the cover. But I would likely have done it even if this was not the case.

There are pictures to prove its no pipe dream. Like said above its a cheap mod that provides some insurance and at the very least you get some extra tie downs and mounting holes which is nice.

Have some brand new total chaos stiffeners for sale of anyone is interested...ordered them then got my topper installed today...just realized the wires for the topper are coming out of the column at the top and are in the way of where the TC stiffeners will go :annoyed:

Gonna sell them and go with the Cali raised which are shorter and won't interfere with the location of my shell wiring.
