    What a journey.

Was going to journey to Princess Auto for some 22 gauge wire. Ended up going to a junkyard. Asked if they had any tacomas out back and the guy said "ya we don't get many in here we might have 2." so he took me out back and sure enough only had a 1st gen and 2nd that were almost all but gone.

He took his clipers and cut off a bunch of wires, handed it to me and when I asked how much he said don't worry about it. Fucking awesome deal ahha.

    20180524_174402_HDR.jpg

Spent sometime stripping all the funk down to get this:

    20180524_190609.jpg

Still a nervous job and ran into a few frustrations with wires falling out but successfull extended the rear camera wire harness and is wrapped up water tight, protected and secured.

Still need to find a bracket that points at the appropriate angle and hoping the brake light doesn't add too much hue to the video image.

Huge camper cap update for the white rhino.

Sealed the forward edge, which for some reason had about a half an inch gap. Plugged it with a pipe insulator and cut to fit.
    20180526_144306.jpg

Sealed the bottom edge of the perimeter of the cap so should be water tight.

That does help. I have to check the bracket for you tonight. I’ll send you a pm.

Looks like it's doable. To achieve that angle I may need to add on a sort of "L" bracket it's looking better than my alternatives right now. Shoot me a text on how much you want for it and we'll go from there

    Finally placed some stickers.
Don't know how to utilize the space on the back of the door so I'm open for suggestions

using rivet nuts you could bolt any light item you would like.

I am planning on using a cord of some kind to hold paper towels and towels. May run a magnetic strip to hold cooking tools while cooking. I have used aluminum plate between the crossbars to mount a water pump.

ya its a pretty interesting spot, any of the stuff I wanna put there has to be relatively flat. First aid kit, frying pans, maybe some cooking utensils. I like your ideas

    SUCCESS!
    20180606_201635_HDR[1].jpg

a scary and some time frustrating mod. ALSO, going to test it at night to see if the truck cap will give a red hue, flooding the video with some bad image. If all is good, will silicone the hole and tuck the wires away a lot neater.

No hue when backing. I think I can call this a success

Way better than mine. For the hole you made. This may be a good option for water proofing.

Blue Sea Systems 1002, Antenna Cable Feed-Thru, .83-Inch Opening https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B000MMC7HK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_96jgBbJCGP1ZR

Edit: this site may be cheaper. https://ca.binnacle.com/advanced_se...7neov3qjnn39nlc5th38mj3&search.x=0&search.y=0
May need to double check on sizing but I have one to run my solar wiring into the cap. So far water tight.

I like it! May incorporate in the future but for now I had to seal it with some gutter caulking to keep the rain from dripping down to the wiring. Its supposed to be raining for the next few days so it'll be a good test.

I really didn't want to use that feature. Plus I have the 'anytime rear cam' mod in my possesion that I yet to install. For checking on my trailer that doesn't exist or reading the license plates of bad drivers haha

So I don't have a hitch at all BUT I could measure off and get you a rough picture tomorrow to give you an idea. Chances are i would see it better as its more of an overhead view

I had to position mine slightly towards the passengers side so I didn't have to rip off the third brake light for the cap

Definitely get the image before you put it in place haha try these T nuts, you can put them in the prinsu rack and remove them without removing the crossbars which means you could secure your camera and just tighten it down wherever you want, maybe a little blue thread lock?

    https://www.ebay.com/ulk/itm/252991459193

I have a bunch of these T nuts that I'm ready to put in for auxiliary tie downs
