Using the OEM 4Runner motor mounts it actually bolts right up to the Taco... and I live in Seattle so I can't come to you. Guess I'll be making my own

If you know that it bolts right up to the Tacoma frame perch then it wouldn't be an issue. I'm personally not aware and I'm not sure what v8 you are using. I know Toyota has made a few different v8 blocks over the years since they started putting them in the 4runners. I have engine mounts for the 4.7 tundra which I know is the same block they put in some of the earlier 4runners. But obviously the block to frame perch distance on a tundra is longer than in the 4runner. If the stock v8 4runner mounts will work, then all I would need is a stock set of those mounts to design off of.

Hahahaha. Write up? Sorry bud, there was too much going on that day and my hands were way too filthy to remember what I did to install them. :D I could barely fit my hands in there let alone a camera. Tips... mm.... make sure you set a full day aside at least for this project and have lots of wrenches, rachets, swiveling adapters, and extensions because it is an absolute BITCH to do if you have 4X4.

In my own defense it took me past a full 8 hours to do this because I was doing a new power steering rack and transferring over my old poly bushings into it in the process.

The driver side is like a 8. The passenger side is like a 3 lol. Use loctite on the engine block bolts. Gear wrenches, box wrenches, and assortment of swivels. floor jack with wood block. Pull off the inner plastic fender wells..makes access much easier. Good size prybar. 12 pack or Silver Bullets. haha.

Are the motor mounts for the 4.0 the same regardless of whether you have an auto or manual trans?

Any comments about noise in the cab after these motor mounts were installed? Looks like a good product.

I get a slight amount of vibration. Mostly I notice my passenger seat back vibrates a little at stops but mostly just at startup. Driving around I don’t even notice it and the shop who installed them said the same. My old Honda was loud at first with rigid mounts and then they broke in some. I think the solid frame truck either absorbs some of it or v6 bounces less.

I’ve had mine installed for more than a year maybe almost 2 and it definitely fixed the slop in my motor that was noticeable after only 80k

Just noticed my driver side engine is lower in the passenger side in my long tube headers has a dent and scuff mark possibly from hitting the shock Tower. I've been having some issues when accelerating I would feel a thump as I accelerate then it will smooth out and when I am coming to a stop I can feel another bump. Looking to buy your motor mounts I am located in Queen Creek Arizona @Bonzen

If your stock motor mounts are shot and sagged out or deteriorating, yes its pretty certain.
