Burnt Hickory Brewery - Order of the Owl. It’s a Chocolate Orange Stout from a local GA brewery. Little thin, but flavor is pretty good. Not getting a whole lot of orange flavor, more chocolate and graham cracker maybe?

Against the Grain - 70k. Angel Envy barrel aged milk stout. Poured and drinks nice and thick. Lots of chocolate and malt, with a good bit of bourbon kick on the throat. I’d like to grab another and cellar it a while to see how it mellows out. Would buy again, but that $24 a bottle is a little more than I usually like to spend.

That isn’t a hangover cure suggestion... just your opinion. Which is fine, but I asked for your alternative to my hangover cure...

Brewed up a Caramel Apple Cider the other night. Mashed 4 lbs German Pilsener malt and 1.25 lbs caramel malt, collected 3.75 gallons of wort, then boiled it down to 1 gallon @ 1.120+ OG....

    20180607_215329.jpg

Added the caramelized wort to the fermenter along with 5 gallons of Kirkland apple juice and Bell's yeast harvested from my Two Hearted clone. Tomorrow evening I will puree 5 lbs of frozen then thawed apples in the Vitamix and caramelize it down to apple sauce consistency and add it to the fermenter. In a couple weeks I'll keg it and let it lager in the back of the beer fridge for about 4 months 'til it's crystal clear, just in time for the holidays.

Speaking of my Two Hearted clone, here it is at about 3+ weeks in ...

Up next is my Doppelbock brewed on 4/27 clocking in at a respectable 9.2%. At a little over 6 weeks in, it's actually pretty smooth....

Paradox Brewery Southern Hemisphere DIPA - I had this a couple of months ago and thought that it wasn't a fresh can. They don't date their cans, but they recently changed all of their labels so I knew this one wasn't too old. Much better this time around.

I have had much to eat today so this one is hitting me quick. Very little sign of the abv making this pretty crushable. This could get me in trouble

It came out earlier this year, and it’s really easy drinking. Sour of course, but not that biting like some can be. And the currants are like a mix of raspberries and blackberries. I wanna drink another one, which I have, but I think I’ll cellar it for a while and see how it turns out.

Oh! And the color on this one is incredible!
