Where there other cars to parallel park around, or just a simple pull over on side of the road?
Was the trailer heavy, or could 2 guys have unhooked it and moved by hand?

No other cars. It is a dirt road, with a small shoulder on each side, overgrown with grass/weeds. It was a pretty heavy trailer, but maybe 2 guys could move it, maybe. It was kinda big and awkward.

Sounds like way more work then its worth, you just need practice. Hook up the boat a just pull it around, heck leave it hooked up for a week and take it with you to all your daily tasks. You will get better, just need practice.
