yeah.. it only makes a loud whine, groaning noise when it's on, and the noise will match engine RPMs... if it were the clutch bearing I would imagine it would do it all the time or only if it were off. My guess is the compressor needs to be replaced, and if the lines are contaminated, the system will need to flushed and other additional parts will need to be replaced as well. Since the truck is nearing 200k miles, it's high time that it's open season on my wallet to give the truck a "refresh". Then *hopefully* I can close my wallet for another 200k miles. We will see. I have not played nice with this truck, and has given me relatively few problems.. most of the time it's related either to the charcoal canister, alternator, or air conditioning system. Everything else has been fine. The leaking injectors is not a urgent since it starts fine in all scenarios except for when I try to start a hot engine after 20+ minutes.

Well I spent Wednesday night - Sunday Morning in y'all's fine city! Sorry I didn't post up, I had two full day interviews, 10 apartment showings, and not enough sleep!

Already got a verbal offer and an application submitted on an apartment on Broadway by Vandy. Productive weekend!

I really love Nashville. It seems like the right city for me, and I think it'll be a ton of fun! I'm excited!

Bristol on Broadway, about a 7min walk from Vanderbilt Law School. It seems like a cool area! Lots of bars and restaurants in the area! We just signed the lease yesterday!

I'll definitely take you up on that! The place comes with two parking spots and we've only got one vehicle (for now), so if y'all ever need a parking spot in midtown, let me know!

Our lease starts 8/1, so we will probably start the drive down in the last few days of July. Looks like it'll be 18-20 hours of driving. :burnrubber:

Starting to sell off all of our furniture and get rid of the junk we don't want to move now. I'd rather be sitting on camp chairs for month than trying to offload a couch in the last week.

So I found out this fun little tidbit today, Airbnb properties which plague my neighborhood, artificially inflate home prices, encourage using homes as "investments" and the like, are not going anywhere. The ban only affects certain "zones" (mine of which is not included), and condos and multi-unit properties are not included. That is basically the entire neighborhood. So it looks like short of buying an actual home, it's time to pack up and move the fuck out.

I think we need a nice, solid recession to bring the house prices back where they were. The more people that move in from expensive cities are just going to make it worse. The poor schmucks like me that came from poor states (like Alabama) and have no nest egg to dump into a $700k 1200sq/ft home are screwed.

We are trucking right along towards a 2yr/10yr yield curve inversion.

Yeah, as a home owner I'd be just fine if home prices didn't take a complete nosedive everywhere but inside the loop in certain areas it is out of hand. It's what drove us south to Brentiolensville :) Home prices are still not cheap but are 1/2 what they were in Sylvan Park and I have a yard filled with trees and woods behind the house. Commute blows

That's the thing that annoys me... if you want a good commute, you will have to fight tooth and nail with "investors" to buy a home. Only way out is to buy further away, and then... traffic.

Yeah, lucky for me I'm at a point in my career where I can set my schedule a bit and be somewhat flexible so I work from home 2 days a week then the days I'm in the office (right downtown on 4th) I go in early, then slide out around 2-3 to beat most of traffic then finish the day from home. When I get stuck at the office until 5 or 6, it's almost better to just work til 7-7:30. People from other cities laugh when I talk about Nashville traffic, but when I tell them I live 17 miles from downtown and it takes me anywhere from an hour to 1:30 to make the trip it becomes clearer.

AND we can't even get funding to start working on the traffic problem. C'mon Elon, we need hyper loops!!!

I still think an elevated rail, like a monorail, would be best. That way you don't have to dig into the rock bed to create a subway, and LOL at light rail. I think the voters of that little project were clear on that.

Agree on the leaving between 3 to 6pm.

Yeah, I hear ya and digging into the bedrock was a tipping point for sure but I'm just at the point that doing anything even if imperfect is better than being at a standstill like we have been ever since before the AMP vote to get a damn rail down west end. I don't think people realize that once you START a project like this, you're 5 years from seeing any meaningful improvements in transportation and 20 from getting it fully implemented. Denver is a key example and they've done a good job of combining light rail, express busses, and trains but it took them a long time to get it to where it is today.

"A good plan violently executed now is better than a perfect plan executed next week."

The empire state building was built in a year and 45 days. This quote made me think of that.

Hello fello Nashvillians. I have a 2018 TRD Sport. My lift/wheels/tires upgrade will be done in the next 10 days or so, and I'm looking to do some light overlanding and camp a bit off the beaten path. If anyone has any suggestions, my ears are on.

    Welcome to TW!
I'd suggest going out to Land Between the Lakes (LBL), there's a bunch of forestry roads, maps are readily available and there's lots to explore. Nothing I've come across out there was too unforgiving, and there's plenty of backwoods camping available for $7 for 3 nights.

Howdy y'all! 12 days until The Boston > Nashville move. Probably 14 or 15 before I'm there! I'm supposed to be getting my rear bumper and rock sliders this week, and hopefully I can get them Line-X'ed and installed before I leave, but if not I'll probably be looking for a mod day ASAP!

Looking forward to meeting y'all sometime soon!
