Transmission vs Engine Temps

Towing in 90 degree heat today (some in the Ozark and the rest on hills) the engine temp was between 205 and 215 (typically 205 to 208) with the tranny temps between 179 to 215 (typically 185).

The engine was usually 20 to 30 degrees warmer than the tranny when the converter was locked up. It made me wonder if I should bypass the transmission cooler in the radiator.

Thoughts?

I wouldn't bypass it because it helps heat it up on colder days. Just a thought

I’m going to bypass mine when I install my cooler. I live in Sacramento CA, so our lows are rarely in the 30’s in the winter.
