I just noticed after canceling XM that the JBL Entune on my 2016 OR does not recognize my Google Pixel 2 as a USB device. All BT functions work fine. My phone says its charging but the USB button does not light up. Of course, the USB function works fine with the wife's old Ipad and Apple phone. Anyone else have a Pixel 2? Wonder if you could verify for me if it works or not. I don't remember seeing an Entune update as of late.

    Cheers........

I have a Pixel 2, I can see if it works with a non jbl, not sure if there is a difference in the head unit.

This is an Android thing and unfortunately it's a little more complicated than it needs to be. Read this thread.

    https://forums.androidcentral.com/huawei-p20-p20-pro/884280-audio-out-via-usb-car.html

TL;DR - Entune doesn't support audio through USB from Android. Have to use either bluetooth, AUX (pixel 2 doesn't have) or mount your android storage as a USB drive. Mounting will work but is not optimal as that only works for locally stored files (no streaming) and I don't think you can control anything from the phone. It'll effectively be the same as putting a flash drive in there.

Figures. That's ok I suppose. Just have to deal with it. I was wanting some better audio quality than BT Audio. Thanks for the help.

Pixel doesn't have an AUX. Neither do the new iPhones.

Unfortunately, Entune doesn't recognize the Pixel as a USB either, hence my question. So I'm stuck with BT Audio.

I think the blue tooth bit rate is pretty decent now at least .
