I want to replace my battery terminals with the military style. For that, I need to crimp ring terminals to the stock cables that run to/from the battery.

What's the gauge of those? Looks like there are two wires from the positive and one from the negative.

Also, I saw a thread about upgrading the electrical wires to get higher voltage or chwrge level or something but cants find it, any clue?

    Thanks!

Lots of good info here: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...ts-see-them-multiple-batteries-thread.295653/

OEM gauge for the ground cable and the positive to starter cable is 2 gauge. The battery to fuse box to alternator cable is 4 gauge. Upgrading the cables is a must if you will be putting a high output alternator, or relocating the battery. The only upgrade I would recommend for the OEM wiring is increasing the gauge of the ground battery to body cable. Otherwise, I wouldn't mess with the stock wiring. If I recall, you should be able to keep the OEM cables and adapt them to the military style terminals. You may have to do a little drilling connector bending, but it's doable.

I checked again today and the + cable going to the fuse box has already a ring terminal on it. So basically it's the large pos and neg cables that are currently crimped to the connectors that I want to change.

Thanks for the link and info, I'll buy a cheap chinese hydraulic crimper and terminals!

FYI, you can go to a Welding Supply store and get the flexible welding cable in your preferred gauge and it's fairly inexpensive considering the quality. It has really fine strands for lots of surface area to conduct.
I also made my jumper cables out of 2 gauge when replacing battery cable in my Audi (battery under back seat).
