    Hello TW!

Looking at options for my next pair of shoes for my truck for next winter. Live in an area that see's a lot of rain, occasional snow in the mountains and many dirt/gravel roads. I am living on a bit of a budget so cost is a factor. Looking at 285/70/17s. I tow a boat in the summer, sometimes haul heavy stuff like dirt/debris and mostly stick to pavement.

I have had Cooper AT3's the last 3 pairs and feeling like trying something new. But I have grown accustomed to these and the price of them have not changed much, $167 through discount tire.

So please, send recommendations and vote. I am curious as to everyone's input.

    all tore up already
St maxx in that size was my choice. Surprisingly well mannered and *quiet* with decent wet and ice traction. Excellent in deep snow mud and the few rocks I've played on.

Nice. Aggressive tread for sure. I've seen those wheels on a 4runner the other day.

The wildpeaks are pretty awesome! They've handled everything I've thrown at them like a champ! Plus they look awesome!

It snows inland towards Trinity County.

My KO2S are E rated and have about 16000 on them. I have never been able to get them to balance well enough to keep the steering wheel from shaking . I'm not spending any more money trying to balance them. I'm probably going back C rated with Falken.

Interesting. I can't see myself needing E rated tires since I don't do constant heavy hauling or driving over sharp rocks. I never knew there was so much to learn about tires.

There's really nothing wrong with going E rated and I never really needed anything more than a C tire. I went with the KO2s because I liked the agressive look. They actually ride very good and are fairly quiet on the road. There is alot to like about them and I didn't mean to imply that they're not a good choice. If I could get them to balance I wouldn't even consider not using them. I just thought I would try something different and would go back with C rated just to help the mpgs. There's really not many tire choices that come with C rating for 16 inch wheels that have the agressive look that I want.

I have C rated K02's in a 255/75/17. Only put 900 miles on them thus far but am happy. I was on the fence between Duratracs and the KO2's when making my selection. Ended up with the KO2's due to them being C rated over the SL Duratracs in the same size.
