    Hi all.
Was talking to a fellow Tacoma owner in the South Lake Union neighborhood in Seattle complementing his rig and asking questions about it.
When i asked if his exhaust was a TRD catback he said, "No same thing though; it's a Borla. My cousin works as a Toyota tech and said TRD just stamps their logo onto a Borla system".
So..anyone know if this is true or not?

aah ok. seems like TRD doesn't actually engineer their own stuff, but contracts other companies to let them stamp their logo onto pre-existing systems and components

More than likely, they use existing technology from a selected manufacturer with their own specifications.

98% of most vehicle manufacturers do this. Welcome to contracting.

It was the same way with my subaru and SPT (subaru performance tuning). My SPT catback was a bosal, just like the TRD catback is.

My 09 Texas Edition is the same as the TSS. Came with the Borla K&N type washable air filter. It also comes with 20in wheels.
