Virginia Motorcycle License

Evening all,

So I'm trying to get a motorcycle in the near future and I understand I need to take the safety course first. Here's my question, I currently have a valid Washington State ID, I'm stationed in Virginia and will be taking the course here. From reading the VA DMV website, I can't have a VA motorcycle license and a WA drivers license at the same time. So, how does all this work?

Anybody else have an out of state ID and took their safety course in VA?

Take the safety course.
Take the graduation paper to the DMV.

Tell them you need a VA drivers Lic with MC endorsement.
You will need to take the written test(s).
May have to have a lic driver with you in case you fail the test(s). (Study before you go or you WILL fail!)
Take ugly picture, pay money, get lic - with MC endorsement!
Next time you go back to WA, go to their DMV, take the tests again and get your WA lic.
