How many times do folks need to post M8 x 1.25 for you? Get at least grade 5, get a few different lengths to see which will work best for the thickness of your specific skid.

@scocar - Sorry, I sent him here from a 3rd Gen thread. I tried looking it up, but my suggestions weren’t appreciated. You were right though, its the right size.

Well this thread helped me because all the bolts were broken off and skid plate missing before I bought my truck. Torch and left hand drill bit time

Sorry to hijack the thread, but I was curious if anybody here knows the answer. Just pulled my stock skid plate off my 1st-gen TRD. I have all six bolts, but one of them is not a stock bolt (cheap Home Depot bolt).

I wasn't paying attention to which ones were the long ones and which ones were the short ones. Does anyone know off the top of their head which ones are which?

put the short ones in first, if you don't get enough turns then use the longer ones

The best way to be sure would be to get under your truck and take one of the stock bolts out. Take it to Home Depot. In the hardware aisle with a million screws and bolts, there is a little shelf with a bunch of different sized holes with SAE and metric threads. It exists solely for people to bring bolts in and determine which size they are. I'm betting they're M8 x 1.25 pitch. Find some bolts in the same aisle that match what you have.

PRO TIP: Buy a thread tap like this one (just make sure you get the right size) and a universal handle, and clean the threads out before installing the new bolts under your truck. Then, get some anti seize lubricant, and coat the new bolts before reinstalling.
