Go stock. I thought about it as well and it never makes any difference.

I have a K&N in the wife's car... bought it after finding out that air filters for her car are ~$20 each time you replace it. So $50 made sense at the time, probably already saved about $100 on airfilters and I swear it gets better gas mileage. But then again I'm not sure I'd do that on my new tacoma and wont know for a few years as I'm not planning on buying a filter anytime soon (warrenty). That being said I think they do work better than paper

Exactly, I let mine dry and then re-oil as needed to get it just right as to not over oil. I can only imagine some ppl are putting them in dripping wet because they think it "filters" more smh

Also helps to oil backwards to the natural flow of air pulls the oil in to the filter

    which KN comes with lol.

I had a lot of issues with mine and I never even recharged them lol.
Couldn't be bothered since I got them at cost from the parts store I just bought new ones each time then started getting MAF issues.

I think the new ones do come a bit over oiled.. when I clean mine I don't put on as much as when they come new- i thought I was going to hate it but cleaning really isn't that bad

Spray with oil both sides. Set filter down on rag.

Go get a beer. Drink beer. Flip filter over.
Go get another beer. Then go get another beer.

Install. Finish 6 pack and get a friend to drive you to the store for another 6 pack. Problems solved and avoided.
