Denson Horn Cover?

I want to increase the loudness of my horn on my 2013 Tacoma. I started researching horn options. I took a look at my horn, and I got two Denso horns. The curious thing is that both horns have a metal "cover" on them. WTF? Does anybody know what the deal is with this? What purpose do they serve? I'd like to take off the cover in the hopes that the horns would be louder. (Denso 004015-4015 DN-014). Please help!

 

Covers to keep stuff out. Pop them off and there will be a noticeable difference. I've had mine off for a very long time without issue.

 

Hey, thanks! So, they must be like dust covers then... I will definitely try to see what the horns sound like without them.

Do you think its possible to add another two horns without much fuss?

 

Relatively simple if you have any wiring experience. There is a group buy going on now where there is an option to ADD 8 more horns, well at least hopefully starting soon. Anything is possible.
