Beautiful spot! My wife and I backpacked out on the AT through there last summer. Called the trip a day short and stayed at the campground in one of those rustic cabins. Really cool place!

    Luck was on my side.

It was wet and windy on Friday night. I didn't feel the wind at all with the protected site. Saturday was beautiful, though the Fam was suffering in the weather just an hour south. My rain fly was dry when I woke up on Sunday, so I packed and bolted home to beat traffic. As soon as I pulled the fly, rain set in. The tent is almost aired out.

The Padilla Bay area was an excellent surprise. Really nice and close.

Enjoyed a 7 day camping trip in the little popup camper. WV and VA. 4 campgrounds. Hidden Valley Campground in Warm Springs, VA, Seneca Shadows Campground in Seneca Rocks, WV, Big Meadow Campground in Shenandoah National Park and Rocky Knob Campground in Floyd, VA. Here are some highlights:

Edit: Maguire's Bug & Tar Remover is also a must. After 1k+ miles, there were a lot of dead bugs on the nose of the Taco. Stuff worked great.

    Truck stuff
With my tent on my bedrack and the key with me the truck cant be unlocked by touching the handle or started if someone was able to get into it. I learned this from losing my key in my tent when I thought it was in my pocket. Tried to start the truck and nothing. Had to open my RTT back up to find my key so I could get the truck running. I also hope my dog would warn me if anyone was to get near the truck. That probably wont happen since he is teh opposite of a guard dog and wants to make friends with any person or animal he meets...
This works well and is easy. I've been doing this for different reasons since I read about it in the manual.

The spot is nothing special. This is the Chilohowee Campground in Ocoee. This was our first practice outing with the RTT to get familiar before any serious trips. I like it.

I spent an epic 4 days this week camping next to the water at Goose Lake. Had the campground all to myself. Good times!

Took the dog and wife on their first camping trip this weekend! It also was the first weekend trying out the roof top tent. Cleveland National Forest is a close local spot and one of my favorite! Any SoCal guys have any recommendations for camping spots?

We finally went on a "Family Camping Trip" lol. First camping for our 3 1/2 yo twins.

    Timberline Lake Campground, NJ
    (Wharton State Forest area)
I know, not a fancy middle of nowhere/beautiful views spot, but we have to start somewhere, lol.

No smoke, no fire bans, and rained all weekend where we were.
