Installed a truck box tonight using track style mounts.

Did the fog light mod tonight. Used smoked lenses and no fog light switch to start. Just grounded the switch wire. They turn on with the parking lights on.

Changed the rear end oil today and it was dark as molasses. Fortunately there was no metal on the magnet. But it does appear they must mix the gear oil with some kind of Moly or break in additive. Wondering if the factory fill is synthetic? Refilled with Ravenol 75W-85 gl5 per recommendations on TW. Bottle has a cool nozzle to aide in filling.

 

I’ve been meaning to cut apart the original oil filter to see if it has the sponge/foam style media the Land Cruiser community has talked about with some in the past that are 10 numeric digits with no letters and it is normal paper media.

 

Changed front oil today. Same thing. Moly mixed oil and no metal shavings on the drain plug.
