Still have the 255/85/16 KM2s (and use them if I'm just going wheeling), but I can't tow a trailer with my 4Banger on 33"s (at least until I get the URD supercharger installed).
The tires I'm using for towing are 265/75/16 Pathfinder AT (formerly know as Hankook Dynapro ATM & now a Discount Tire exclusive with new name)

Same thing with me, except I am gonna swap stock frame with a 127 WB one (for the increase in legal tow rating) and so I can have a full 8 foot flatbed, then swap for a common rail D4D.

That's not bad at all. About even with an SC charger and way better mileage and torque. I would love a diesel swap. But the 5vzfe ain't gonna give up the ghost anytime soon.

Couldn't stay off of Craigslist, bought another VW Glampmobile, but this one will be a better offroader compared to the '95 VW Winnie camper. Has traction control, ABS-activated, so true 2WD, no more 1WD. The LWB cargo vans imported for the Winnebago conversions did not have VW's full suite of stability control features, only the ABS-activated wheel slip feature. That's ok with me.

2003 Eurovan Winnebago camper conversion. 126k miles, $28k purchase price, which is actually a pretty good price. No leaks, no rust, Colorado vehicle its entire life.

    2.8l VR6 24v engine, 201hp@6200, 181tq@2500, has good lowend torque. Here's a good read about the vehicle particulars - https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-UwjvsNjTMlWGVPem44akYzQUk/view

Obviously it has to be lifted but it's easy and cheap with Eurovans. Spacers for the rear coils and the front torsion bar suspension is easily adjusted up via threaded T-bars. 225/60/16 tires are stock, 225/70/16's will fit to get +1" ground clearance.

PO added a Fiamma F45 awning, nice to have. Drives well, shifts well, no leaks, no rust, no worries.

I needed the 4" rise to get mine close to level (it'll probably be level if I put my 33" KM2s on)20180518_085133.jpg

The 15" wheels and tires keep it kinda low for now. If I do the axle swap later and go with taller tires I can just switch the Lock n Roll around. Makeing it much taller would be a pain in the ass getting in and out though

Edit: great looking rig you have there btw

Thanks. Got a killer deal on it (if you mean the trailer).
P.S. Those are 15" wheels on mine with 33" tires.
It's close to the same height as my Taco (when on 33"s) and I had to adjust both garage doors to completely clear the opening so they can barely fit.

Not meaning to sound cliche but if you click on the build in my sig and skim through it you can see all kinds of pics of the inside and cooking area. The build is pretty pic heavy and I've made changes and improvements along the way. Hell I/ve done nothing but work on the camper for the last onth and a half pretty much.

Are you a manual transmission? I had a 4cyl auto when we first bought this last August and it only weighs 900lbs "stock". On our first trip I coudn't get over 30mph going over the mtns so I traded it in for the 4.0 MT. I still think it was the auto that got me. I think if it would have been a MT I would have been fine

Yes It's a 5 speed & I've had to take it down to 3rd gear on some of the mountains/hills around here when towing.
URD supercharger, stage 2 upgrade, IC equal length header & short trow shifter are on the way and a cat back & upgrade clutch will be installed.
That should fix my towing problems.

Yep that should do it. It was a shame to me I really liked that truck. With the auto I was a little more limitted as to the shifting I could do. Hell I even cut the ac off to try and help it but 30mph was the most it would give me. The only engine mods I'd done was the LCE header and AFE drop in filter. The header had really helped but whenever you hooked a trailer up behind it it just killed it. I had the same problem with the utillity trailer with the 4wlr onit.

Maybe mudflaps on the truck to keep that trailer pretty?
