Ice Horse's 1998 Tacoma Long Travel/Hybrid Project

Here is an option on a fuel cell set up. JD already got it done and passed smog. I don’t know what cells your looking at but he used the Jaz Jeepspeed. I am following his work and will be doing the same. Just something to look at.

Awesome thank you! I'll take a look at those. I haven't dove too much into them yet but I will. Just gotta make it through to December haha!

 

Put on the new Racelines, did some more fiberglass trimming, replaced some belts. Getting sexier!

 

Got the exhaust done, mounted one extinguisher, battery box mounted, and hood pins done. Trimmed even more of the fender. Stop rubbing dang it! had to get a little up close and personal with the truck to reach the bolts for the battery box haha.

 

so thats how you measure your suspension travel using a kid lol awesome truck man.

 

What are you doing for rear bumps ??

 

For now, just the internal ones built into the Kings. Still trying to decide.

I fail at life. Haha. Been working a new job and seems I never get time to sit down haha. I shall get an update together.

For now...enjoy hover truck.

 

Going to add in updates when I get moments to type them up! After getting the exhaust done it was pretty much a whirlwind to get everything ready and tested over the next month, which is why this thread got quiet.

Charging shocks and added a bar to the bed cage to hold my tire in place and a bumper. Took all three of us ages to roll that tubing Temporary ratchet strap.


Then took it up to Toytec to get an alignment and make sure nothing was crazy out of whack.




Then the fun part...adding logos! Added two of them at this point (only one in the pic) Definitely breaks up the color blocking.

 

Bout time we got an update!

More work. Relocated battery. Checked over stuff. Painted back bars better and added proper tire strap lol.

 

What size rear shocks ?

 

14” 2.5” triple bypass with remote reservoir.
