Looks like your underside was pretty clean of rust, do you fluid film too?

It is only a 2015, so its pretty new. I have forced the stealership to honor my 'undercoating' package and redo the underside of my truck 3 times fully.

It will be getting fluid film this year. The stealership has had enough of my demands lol.

'If I had to re-undercoat everyones vehicle every year, we would go broke.' is what I was told last time.

Pretty callous statement, but where your at probably true. I'm a total fluid film nut, have been using it for many years. It won't let you down!

Yea after some reading on it, and my co-worker talking it up. It is some impressive stuff. The fact that it is food grade I am blown away with. I was wondering why the bottles did not have a poison symbol on them.

I was considering doing this even though I have the front winch already mounted. This seems way more practical, and half the time rear recoveries are needed when you are alone.

I am looking forward to synthetic line that will last for a long time on a nice winch. I can baby it all winter and not let it rot, I have seen so many winches that I would not let hook up to my rig for a recovery.

'You should be behind someone else because you are not hooking that rusty ball of death to my rig for a recovery' That's how I make friends on the trail :cookiemonster:

got to love steel cable. Thats what I am rocking. have to be careful as a snapped cable can be super dangerous. I haven't inspected my cable yet this year. Ill do it when I wash the truck and unspool the winch line to wash it as well.

    Little update on goodnesss :cookiemonster:

I now have the new wooden shelf in the back mounted, it just needs to come out one more time to get an inlay cut into it for the jack to sit in. Only waiting on the small 7qt cooler to show up so we can ensure it gets put in the correct place.

The fridge has been secured. Turned out better than I expected. You can open and access everything in the fridge, without removing it.

Used my favorite little D-rings to hold it down, they work perfect and do not get in the way when the fridge in not in the back. Just what I wanted. :bananadance:

This is how the truck should have looked from the factory, at least the recovery points.

I agree man, that beefy front end look. With usable amazingness.

This mod has got the most comments at the gas station while gassing up than else anything so far. Everyone has a different thing they would use it for, cool to hear all the ways a front receiver can be used.

Got the jack in place today, just a bit of a cut out in the shelf and its perfect. Of course had to get the fridge in there to just make sure it all worked out like I measured it.

Just slide the seat forward and you can easily remove the jack. No messing with the shelf.

That jack and a bottle jack is all I carry now. Love that thing as it doubles as a jack stand too. Did my brakes on it recently.

I agree, I love that thing already. Helped my brother change over from his winters, to his summers with it when I 1st got it. I used it once myself already to change to my spare as well.

So glad you guys pointed me in the right direction on that, I was stumped on what to do once it was lifted and larger tires. :hattip:

Absolutely. I am still debating if I should carry my hilift still. Between that bottle jack/stand and the bottle jack I carry I shouldn't need it. I love the hilift, but its not the safest for working on a vehicle. Around the farm they are awesome, but I dont know.

Since the jack stand hero has joined the team, hi-lift is now just for repositioning the truck on the trail in some messed up situation. I am probably going to pick up one of these kits so I can use it like a winch until I get one :cookiemonster:

Went out with the wife on Saturday to ride some trails we love. Found a large oak tree down on one of them. Someone had cut the trail through the downed tree but there was tons of free wood just sitting there. So we went back out on Sunday for a couple hours with the chainsaw to get as much as the truck could bring home.

Got to use the chainsaw more, which I need to do so I can be more comfortable with it. Went through a full tank of gas, so now I can learn how to sharpen the chain. :cookiemonster:
