OK guys and gals I'm about as green as they come when it comes to theses forums and Tacomas. I recently bought a first gen with 150K, what a steal right?? I've had it for a little under 2 mo. and I've driven it daily since. Ive been easy on the old gal but I decided to get a little mud on her once and I bent a rod.. I'm looking for a donor motor since this one will cost more to rebuild than to replace. Ive checked CL and FB and cant find one close. I see there are JDM motor sales in Chicago and what not but I'm getting mixed reviews. Sooo to make this long story not so long I need help getting to this info on the TW site (navigating the site in general) and any tips on finding parts local! Ive wanted a taco my entire life and I finally found one but now i need to bring her back to life so I can make some improvements to my rig. PLEASE HELP!! 96 2.7 stock no frame rust! Thanks!!

Copart, bid on a salvaged one, take the motor and scrap the rest or part it out

From what I hear copart can be pretty expensive with all the little fees. Would you recommend bidding or buying outright? Basically I need to be convinced on why I shouldn't be scared to death of being ripped off by this place.

I bought my truck from them with a bid of $9,800 with hail damage. 2011 with 76k miles on it, pristine condition. Out the door with fees and everything I paid $10,750 or something close to that. I suggest bidding over buying
