185 horses at the wheels is a solid jump but there should be a lot of room to increase it. Right now you're still below the V6. URD claims to get 250rwhp out of their belt driven turbo.
Do you have a dyno chart that shows your torque band?
I think 300rwhp should be safely doable with a proper setup. How awesome would it be to slap the 4.0 at the drag strip AND at the pump in terms of MPG??!!

Happy to post pics and details of my install, etc late next week. Can post dyno chart too, RWHP & torque. Should this be a new thread since now tagged on to KirkRio's orig. turbo project(?).

Sure, more HP/Torque always nice, stomping on 4.0 too, but did my turbo mod to just get an extra 40-60 hp. The URD supercharger 250 RWHP # is Stage II & CAT removed. I've lightweight emission to pass every other year... Also, chose the GT2860RS/0.64 A/R for near zero lag / street-ability. It delivers on that really well. Will get piggyback ECU installed, defer to tune shop for wisdom of extra 1-3 psi, extra fuel requirements, etc. If I end up around 200+ RWHP, tuned properly with stock injectors, etc, will call it a great day. Just wanna be sure I can tow safe.

It's been a while since I've logged on but it's awesome to see others going turbo with the same platform!! I've been daily driving mine now for quite some time and it's been amazing. When I get some time I am going to figure out fuel injector solution which will allow me to raise the boost levels to something a bit more........ appropriate :burnrubber:

Quick update on my turboed 2TR: After much effort and crazy back and forth with local tune shop to get a plug and play harness-connected MAP-ECU3 dialed in, I threw in the towel and purchased the URD SC kit with intentions of using the air piping/intercooler, MAP-ECU3 and 5th injector setup (so just the air and fuel management components of the kit). Initial goal was to see if the MAP-ECU3 supercharger setup would remedy my GT28 turbo boosted 2TR. If not, the plan was to do the full SC kit install and scrap the turbo 2TR lifestyle. Truck ran great with turbo (boost is essentially boost, whether from a SC or turbo...) and the air/fuel management from the URD SC kit (essentially the MAP-ECU3 with URD file installed and 5th injector). Sooo, I forwent the SC install, mocked up a 5th injector myself with fresh piping, injector bung from Himni Racing in FL and fresh MAP-ECU3 running the SC map file. Truck is still running around 7 PSI, but I may get brave and bump it up 2-3 PSI in coming weeks. With 210k on the clock, not sure that much more boost is a wise idea....

Happy to post pics and provide any other info if anyone is interested.

Also, if anyone is interested in essentially a new URD SC kit for the '05 - '15 2TR, drop me a note. Just pipes, MAP-ECU3 and 5th injector were used and only for 200-300 miles, so essentially a new 2TR SC kit.

Post some pics. Love to see them. I’m currently adding more boost to my truck. Looking to do about 15 psi. Hit me up if you have any tuning questions. I’m pretty good with a mapecu.

Here is some pics of my shade tree mechanic turbo install on my '06 Base 4X4. Kept the stock air box. If only I had welding skills like KirkRio! Used a GT2860RS, 0.64 A/R, spools quick, power on demand! Dyno numbers of around 240 ft lb torque, 220 hp, at just under 7 psi max boost. I have not yet gotten around to a full delete of the air injection pump, so it is kind of a mess up near the firewall...but ECU is kept happy for now. Love it, thanks for sharing. I'm running that same turbo blanket. Looks like an oem diesel swap under the hood. That turbo has to hit low.

Hey guys, I hate to do this but I need to thin the herd as I am running out of room for vehicles. The truck is up for sale here: Been stored in one of my warehouses for the last year and I feel bad that I don't get to drive it much.

Whomever gets it, will have a very fun truck, with a properly built turbo kit.
