Was this during the wind storms during mid April?

Yep, @SoCalTbird it's a 2013 DCSB. After a long and unfruitful search for a used aluminum contractor cap, I decided to buy new from Camper Center in Ventura, CA. The guy's been there for over 40 years and was a pleasure to do business with. My understanding is that this Century shell is the same as a Leer. Under the Leer umbrella or something.

Hey @ETAV8R pretty damn close! I believe this was April 6th. We did the Eureka Valley (amazing dunes) to Saline Valley via Dedeckera and Steele pass, then up Lippincott and back to pavement at Ubehebe Crater. It was super windy in the Owen's Valley later that afternoon as we drove past Keeler to Lone Pine. And there were some crazy guys doing some sort of Gran Fondo road bike ride out by Keeler getting pelted by sand!

Were you up there around that time?

I was there from the 13th-18th. Several of those days were very windy.

@SoCalTbird it was about $1,900. That included carpeted interior, racks, windoors, and black paint.

Yep, my buddy climbed up. I didn't know he was up there because I was so focused on wheel placement.

I sold my camper and have a shell ordered. Should be ready in July. Tradesman has an 8 week lead time right now.

Is that new? I looked on the website and saw nothing like that. How much weight will the racks carry?

Hey @Texas-Shrapnel I bought it new. It's the DCU model. Here's a link to the company: http://www.centurycaps.com/dcu
    Made in USA.
Not sure about the weight limit for the racks. I don't plan on doing a RTT, mainly just for surfboards/jerrycans.

picked up my new Swiss topper recently. Love aluminum: lightweight, cheap and good looking in my opinion.IMG_20180615_145330620.jpg

Let me know how you're liking it! I've got a Swiss topper too, and I'm curious how it will hold up to abuse, compared to an ARE or LEER. Mine is holding up ok so far! :)

Finally getting to spend some nights in the Swiss aluminum camper! Works great on public lands when I can set up camp, the awning, and all that good stuff... but it also works great as an urban bandit base camp. It has already saved me several hundred dollars when my GF and I refused to get a hotel in Monterey! Limo tint is a must.

Running water, hot water, solar, a fan, interior and exterior lighting, and insulation are next. Also need to build or buy a bed slide drawer system with a padded top.

Yea, my Dad definitely has a cooler collection of vehicles than I do! We used to be a Jeep family (XJs), but it's hard to beat the Toyota's now. Still holding on to the Jeep Roots though :)

I'm liking the Swiss top so far. I got the basic model but requested extra reinforcement and the ladder rack feels super stout. I also took off the plastic bed rail caps in order to get a more positive and stiffer connection. I had to order the diamond plate sheet myself and send it directly to Swiss since that is not something they have in stock. They were really great to work with. Now I just have to set up a bed and go have some adventures!
