So someone hit my 2017 Off-Road in a parking lot Sat night. Nice big dent on the left side. Just curious if anyone has a rough estimate on replacing. Not sure if I want to use my insurance or not.

    Thanks!

That sucks... sorry for your loss. I think its $700 for a plate bumper. No more worries about that shit. For some reason people make a point to steer clear of a plate bumper but the plastic crap, not so much. You'd be surprised how much room you get after.

The OEM bumper to have someone do it is costy.. more than a plate bumper.

Installing plate bumper is 3 bolts each side... taking off the OEM one was a pain in the ass. Glad I didn't have to put it back on!

    I hope they left a note.
If not you may want to consider a demello rear bumper. From your username it looks like you are local to them if you are in San Diego.

OP - I would take up the offer by one of the guys here rather than getting new. They are not cheap.

But the better idea, as @bobrown14 and @JaCado said, is to get a plate rear bumper (unless you have BSM and sonar which you want to keep fully operational).

I don't get worthless posts like this. Please just move on if you don't like the thread.

Thanks everyone, appreciate the responses and options. Unfortunately, I do have BSM and sonar, so looking to replace my OEM Silver one. Yep, I'm down in San Diego, so if anyone has a Silver OEM bumper they are looking to get rid of please let me know.

Some of the plate bumpers are equipped or can accommodate the BSM. I may be mistaken but I do know a few companies were working on it.

Supposed to work, but in reality, it does not. Even the owner stated that it's not 100% reliable. Which, to me, means I'd rather not even have it than deal with a system that only works part of the time.

Seriously? If this is the best you can offer the OP, don’t waste your time or anyone else’s with this twaddle and just move on.

From the research I did recently, there was only one rear bumper option that was equipped for BSM. For me, this feature is actually helpful. I plan to wait until there are more BSM options before replacing my rear bumper. If I get rear-ended like the OP though, I may have to change my thinking.

After having more time last night to look at things, looks like I'll just need the bumper cap. Still pissed though!

Thanks again for all the responses!
