How dry was it up there at workman falls? I usually head up there the first of August.

It had just rained this weekend so everything seemed nice and lush. But otherwise it wasn't too bad. Almost everything outside of young was closed and I'm sure workmans creek was off limits to camping.

Went to check out the swastika mine and Alexandra, took video of the mines we went in but not too many pics. Ill post some of the videos here soon, once I upload these. The building is on the way to crown king, don't know the name of that mine... the trail leading up the swastika mine was rocky but not technical at all. The only problems I had was going slow up hill with the manual transmission and a flat tire :anonymous:

this mine had a lot of water in it, we went about 40 feet and it went deeper than my boots would allow lol
    [IMG]

So much for Kevlar tires, a 2 inch gash in the sidewall sealed its fate...

I’ve been all through the Swastika, even rappelled down the hard-to-reach places. It’s a large complex, a couple miles of tunnels from what I’ve seen. That flooded tunnel is the lower haulage tunnel that goes in around 700 feet. It’s flooded almost knee deep all the way back.

This is what’s at the end of the flooded tunnel:

That's awesome.. I should've worn my hooker boots instead.....

We went pretty far in the swastika and it seemed like it just keeps on going, but one of my friends got a little worried and so we turned around. How often do you go to the old mines? @JeepAndrew

All the time, been doing it for 15 years now. Actually just got back from a week-long trip exploring up in Utah and Nevada. I do it professionally and do exploration and documentation work as a side job. The Swastika actually has several miles of workings all together.

I’d be careful though, there are places in that mine that are ready to come down at any second and bury you alive under tons of rock or trap you in a dead end passage to die.

That's not Woods Canyon lake, that's why you don't recognize it. That's Workmans Creek.
