I did just that! Bought. 2008 TRD off-road access cab with 195k miles MT. No leaks, runs strong. Changed all fluids (except front diff - stuck drain plug), changed spark plugs. Frame in great condition. Need to replace stock shocks— looking at Bilstein 4600s all around. About to change serpine belt.

Hoping to get another 195k miles out of it.

Glad to hear everyone’s high miles have had minimal maintenance. My 2010 is only nearing 57k(not worthy of this thread) been overseas too long... but I have been changing my fluids mainly due to age/time

Lol i'd love to see the gap on those plugs. Mine were original at 100k and almost double what factory gaps them at.

I'm definitely not going to compete for "highest miles", but will report the data anyway.

2008 DCSB 4x4 OR: I'm at 195k and have done routine maintenance, no ethanol 87 most of the time, and replaced the standard wear items plus a power window motor.

2" suspension lift with 265 Wildpeaks, and getting about 18 mph most tanks.

I do not plan to sell this truck any time soon, and will drive it forever if it allows.

IMO everything breaks and in spite of what the faithful Tacoma cult believes , these tacomas are not the magical legendary vehicles that many believe so strongly in that it causes used sales prices to fall into the " OMG you are kidding " category .
I have discovered that what makes a vehicle able to achieve "High mileage" is cost effective fixability AND build quality is secondary .
case in point : I have an F150 that made it relatively trouble free to 240k and it needs a timing chain job, a heater core and lower ball joints . It is still running excellent now , but it wont be pretty if the poorly designed honda90 timing chains slip . No mechanic wants to work on it they all cringe and the cost of repair would not be cost effective
for another $6,000, I could make it to 400,00 miles
I had a 1st gen Tacoma that I sold at about 220,000 that I got at 160,000 and had to replace the clutch and flywheel then it needed valves, then it burned up two cats in a row then after another 50,000 miles later the head blew for no apparent reason (most likely from re-using the head bolts, so I replaced the motor with a low mile one out of a crash. so its really not much better than a nissan, ford chevy dodge or subaru and it really only got to around 180,000 before needing major surgery,
so mileage is a totally subjective topic
with enough money thrown at it , a tacoma , ( or F150 for that matter) could make it to 500,000 miles easily. and the way the idiots are running the world these days it may be "cost effective" to keep fixing our old cars ,
we will have to as the idiots in charge attempt to phase out "fossil fuels" in the struggle for political power

My 15 limited has just shy of 208k. I mow for a living. Tow a 6x12 enclosed trailer. Weighs about 2,900lbs. I run 93 in the summer. Winter ill dump 87 in it and it runs just fine. All i use is shell. Mine runs beautifully.
