    Hello

After washing my 2018 TRD OR DCLB for the first time today I noticed a few things.

The rear fender flares, on the angles facing the front of the truck, is all scuffed/chewed up. I'm assuming its from cruising dirt roads and having no mud flaps? Its the only thing that makes sense. Anyone else have this?

Also, a lot of the plastic (fender flares, bed, inside of tailgate) has white water spot looking stains on it? Ive tried to rub them out a little with water but they reappear. I haven't tried super hard to get rid of them. But if theres an easy fix, I'd like it.

Heres a couple pics. One for reference of where the fender flares are damaged. One that shows the chewed up marks. And one that also shows some of the water spotting.

Yeah. i'm not super concerned. its a truck, that I take off-road, and I accept it to a degree. But i've only had it 3 months and went on one trip. at this rate they'll disintegrate before I hit 10k miles. more concerned with the water spotting i guess.

Looks like the knicks are collecting some dirt and showing up as grayer than the surface.

You can clean with some Simple Green then take a heat gun to it to blacken it up but if you do a lot of off roading they will get beat up like that.

You may be able to Line-X them to maintain the rough black look but give it added protection.

Maybe thats why the body panel is coated in this clear-bra type stuff

Are you running spacers? Maybe it’s angle of the pic. That is exactly why that clear material is there. My 2011 has that too.

You can buy the same clear material on Amazon and apply it to the flares as well. My 2014 SR5 (painted flares) had it on the front of the flare to protect the paint, but I took it off and used crappy aerosol bed liner on them. The bed liner is chipping in the same place on mine.

I'm not. although I have some wheels with an offset on the way. as long as the damage is contained to the plastic flares, i guess im not gonna freak out. especially since theyre already damaged. if i ever feel the need to replace the flares i'll do something to protect it.
