I'm pretty OCD about my truck looking nice so I got a stock QI wireless button and wired in a ChoTech 3 coil wireless charger under the little pocket on my console there shown in this pic.

Everything works perfect but the lighting.

I attached a wiring drawing of how I wired it up but I did it with the truck on and I had 12v when I started across green and gr/wh but I believe I accidentally shorted it while testing and now I only have 3v so my ac light and my QI backlight are very dim at night. They do not regulate by the variable resistor roller left of the steering wheel anymore.

All that being said, does anyone know where the 2 connectors I circled are located? i was going to see if i burnt a pic at one of those connectors or what i need to do.

    Any help is appreciated!!
    Thanks!

I don't have an answer for you on this but have a question for you. I just added the anytime camera mod to my truck and used the two outside blank positions for the switches. Have been poking around on the little plug to the HVAC control with a MM looking for the illumination and dimer wire to connect my R2 illumination wire to on my switch. Do you have any tips on what withe that would be on the little black plug to the controls?

Absolutely. i have attached a couple of documents that may help you. Let me know if I misread what you meant and this doesn't help you or if you need some more help. I have more documentation on this subject.

ILL+ (GR/WH) & ILL- (GR) should be the wires you are looking for thats the 2 i shorted together :annoyed:

Actually, before you screw up, Can I see the pinout on your switch? do the Illumination and no/nc contacts have two separate circuits?

Thanks for the info. I will check this all out later this week. Attached is print out of the wires on the switch. I want to attach R2 to a positive for illumination and the HVAC controls are right above the switch location.

Yeah, that's what I was afraid of. Your illumination circuit and your switch have a common ground.

Your trucks stock switches always have a separate circuit for the lighting and the switch.

The stock Rheostat controls both the power feed and ground wire to each light bulb in the illumination circuit.
by using the common ground on your switch as opposed to the stock ILL- ( as i said is regulated ), you are creating a direct path to ground.
This causes the whole illumination circuit to bypass the rheostat ILL- input wire and go straight to ground via the switch.

    Hope you read this @Tdkrum5

Thanks, Yes I did, I thought it was something like this. The only way to make this work is supply a separate acc always on ckt to the R2 lead.

Do you know of a different switch that would work?

Honestly, I haven't looked into it. The cleanest custom switches I have seen are from CH4x4 but as far as I know, they have the same wiring as what you just showed me. If I were to get one I may have to check and see what all it would take to crack it open and resolder a new wire on the back side of the LED so that I can put it in the stock circuit.

The only other option I know of is using a stock switch just as I did. Of course in your case, there is no stock switch for a camera.

Do you have any up close pictures on how the switch is made? I'm curious how difficult it would be to rewire the LED. Like I said, I'm so OCD I don't think I could handle 1 switch brighter than the rest.
