    Trouble shooting.....

I need some help, I will try to describe the issue as best I can. The issue is somewhere with the front suspension. Since purchasing the truck a few months ago I have noticed that most of the rubber joints are shot and need replaced ie - tie rod ends, sway bar end links, possible lower ball joints, possible LCA bushings. So replacing all those parts is in the works, I just need to diagnose this certain symptom to see if catastrophic failure is a necessary concern and need replacement immediately.

When I come to a complete stop, in that final moment as the wheels finally stop moving I feel a little bit of extra movement forward and a knocking sensation. The same sensation occurs when I release the brakes and step on the accelerator. As if something is loose and the momentum of the vehicle kicks back. Any idea what this could be or how I could diagnose it?

I sent you a PM, since this thread isn't really for help/troubleshooting.

haha, ok, since you guys asked, I'll copy my message here:

I am having a similar issue in my truck. I had my mechanic look it over, and he noticed that the driveshaft carrier bearing was either broken or worn down enough that the driveshaft had too much play going through it.

If there are any vibrations while under throttle, like I had at about 40 mph, this is a likely cause.

Get under your truck and push the driveshaft around at the carrier bearing and see if it moves. If it does the carrier bearing may need to be replaced.

I bought my truck from CarMax, and got the extended warranty with it, so I took it to them, and they are currently replacing the entire driveshaft assembly under the warranty. They said they're giving me a whole new driveshaft, and carrier bearing. So hopefully that will solve the problem.

    Good luck.

Also, he did say that the worn/broken carrier bearing was the *only* thing wrong that he could find. Everything else had been lubed/greased, and no other parts were worn or broken that he could find.

Changed engine & cabin air filters. Had some white lint/fabric material on the cabin filter so I checked inside the cowling for a nest - nothing there and no droppings or anything (phew!), so it must have just got sucked in.

That dent was in the engine air filter when I bought it (Purolator).

    New filters are Toyota.

That was only 5K on these!

I check them at each 5K maintenance and replace if needed or annually.

I checked mine at 90k and it was as dusty as Arizona. Also who ever checked it last left the door open on it, so I guess I had 're-circ' constantly lol.
