Plug-n-play setup order

So my goal was to improve the quality of my current stereo by simply replacing audio components that were already there without spending lots of money. Only thing I've done since owning my truck is add a head unit with a SiriusXM tuner. The display on the Kenwood head unit is unreadable with any daylight on it and sometimes it will stop playing sound requiring a reboot, its also quite old and head unit technology has progressed since 2014. The sound quality is better than stock but 22 watts RMS on stock speakers works but wish there was more. The head unit I ordered has a D-class amplifier built in good for 45 watts RMS, which is enough for my needs. The aftermarket XM antenna is ugly and I don't like having additional wires when I already have an XM antenna sharkfin on the roof.

My truck has the factory X subwoofer in the back which makes enough bass for me so I wasn't really looking to add an amp, which would add a considerable amount more to the cost and install time.

Another goal was to make this a quick, fun and easy project where very little disassembly was required. However, I did want a permanent, yet factory solution to the door speakers. I never liked the plastic speaker adapters and don't want to reuse the factory tweeter mounts so that is why I decided to use ********* which does make it very simple for us to search and customize the type of installation parts we need for our trucks. I've never used them nor know any of them, I'm just going off of what I've seen. Kind of pricey but comparable to what I would've had to pay a local car audio shop to make speaker mounts. Also, their plug-n-play harnesses look better (thicker gauge) than what Metra offers and I don't think I've seen anywhere else make tweeter adapter harnesses for our trucks.

Idatalink makes a way cheaper xm antenna adapter (Sat 1) its like $14-$20, should work for you.

 

Looking at SAT1 on iDatalink's website I saw no Toyota's compatible with it. ST02 looks compatible only with 3rd gens. Am I missing something?

Searching more I found these, one Male and one female. I think I need the female one for my truck, now I gotta go look, but $23 is better than $50.

Call them and ask, it should work.... If you're using a xm tuner for an aftermarket radio.

OR

you can just buy a $12 Fakra extension on Amazon. From the factory antenna connection to the xm tuner.
