So when do you guys fill the tank? When the light comes on? Needle on empty? 1/4 tank left?

I consistently fill up after the light comes on, on any vehicle I drive other than my ‘77 f250 who’s gas gauge is nowhere near accurate

I usually fill up between 1/4 and 1/8...seems stupid to fill up too often bc then your mileage takes a hit because of the gas you haul around town.
However, when i lived in the big city i didnt like to get too far below half bc you never knew when you'd be sitting in traffic for 3 hours.

My record is 600. I was drafting behind my friend’s box truck going 65mpg. And I have an aux fuel tank. So I guess that’s miles per tanks.

Just did a average on my stock 04 dcsb trd.
15.65 gallons to fill up(light had just came on)301 miles before light came on again..
A lot of back road driving a.c. on.probley 100 of that 70 mph hwy driving a.c. on.not bad for 225,000 engine trans combo.
I pushed the envelope on the tank for this average though...I drove it probley 15 miles with light on...a.c. Off to break the 300 mark.

I get around 250-260 all city driving with a 17 miles round trip commute to work. Until this thread I didn’t even know our trucks had a gas light though. 2000 4 cylinder access cab 4wd with 265/70 -16’s.

225 if I'm in the throttle. 250 hwy driving. 300 if I do exactly 55 on the hwy. This is filling up just below a quarter. Well before the light comes on.

    2004 xtra cab V6 4wd 285/75/16s 4.88 gears. 1000lbs over stock weight.
