Peragon truck covers

Looking into purchasing a peragon retractable truck cover after a horrendous experience with the vanish access roll-up cover.

My main concern is it’s logevity and general build quality. I won’t be using my bed to haul major tools/equipment (just my fire gear- turnout coats, boots, and bedding) or going off road a whole lot.


From what I can find on older threads (2012 ish) the quality was in question. Just trying to see if anyone has had any experience with them on the 3rd gen Tacoma’s

 

Were you ever able to find any information? I'm like you. I like the idea of the Peragon, but after viewing the installation videos, I have some reservations. I was able to find this on Amazon for Peragon covers on Fords... but it ought to all be the same. There's some pretty negative reviews on there.

I went ahead and bought in, you know in the name of science. I’m pretty happy with it so far (had it for 2 months or so) install really wasn’t that much more than other covers. I was able to do it in 2.5 hours, alone. The quality seems very good for the money, it’s light weight which some may dislike but I use to it store my bunker gear so it works out for me. Took it off road and hit the trails pretty hard. It held up well and without shifting from the mounts. For the money I think it’s the best cover. Personally very happy with the purchase.

 

Any updates to this? I'm thinking about getting one myself. Not sure though

 

Was in the exact same boat a few months ago. Couldn't get passed the idea of the accordion style opening function and the inability to stay part way open.

Instead I got a RetraxPro MX. Love my cover. Holds 500 pounds which means I can literally walk on my cover while putting my 60 pound kayak on my roof.

My advice is spend the money on a proven, quality cover. My cover is as water tight as these things can possibly get. I can lock it in any position.

 

does anyone have tried to install a bed rack on top of those bed covers?
