Sad to say for me we ran out of time so only the drivers side is on for mine. I need to get the passenger side apart sometime this summer to finish the deed.

I'd say 5 on 5.5 just for wheel selection. A matching econoline 9" in the back and you're golden.

There’s a big o in cottonwood heights I always took my LT 2016 to. And all of my other heavily modified vehicles. They always did a good job on my stuff.

Just make sure you explain the specs you want. Then you’ll get a person that know what they are doing.

You can use a milk crate standing up the tall way or regular way depending on how high you have it.

Anyone use 18" springs on their 8" coilovers?

plenty do. I know that on a 1st gen its better if you have a flat bottom spring perch though which most kits won't allow to run.

pauls truck at 18x600s. or 18x550 would be good

Yeah Paul at solo told me to at least use my raised spring seats if not extended rod ends. Why would a flat seat be better, to give it a little more space? I guess I can just use my 18x600 spring from my 10" on my 8". My 8" came with 14x600 and I'm seeing if someone would trade those for 16x600. Would 16x600 be better than 18x600 if I can snag some?

Seems easy enough if you started out with some old brake rotors

Only thing that stopped me was the sketch factor of them tipping toward or back while under the truck.

18" springs should fit fine on any standard 8" coilover that doesn't have an external top cap (sway-a-way) with a standard raised seat.

Most shock companies are making custom external top cap shocks for 2nd gen LT applications so 18" coils won't fit on those without compressing the coil.

If an 18" spring fits freely on a shock there will be no binding issues. 18" springs will have a little more spring travel than 16" so you can get away with a little more preload if necessary.

Kartek lists spring travel specs on their Eibach springs for reference.

Thanks - I think I'll have to compress it a little to get it to fit over the spring seat. It looks like the spring will be compressed no more than it is on my 10" coilovers when on there with the tender spring. Do part store compressors work for 3" springs - I've heard someone say they don't?

    A thing or two...
I have a set of spring compressors that look like this:

They don't fit the springs on my King's. They won't go between the coils to latch on.

I'm thinking about buying this spring compressor to try out. https://www.amazon.com/Goplus-MacPherson-Interchangable-Compressor-Extractor/dp/B017H1AWMK
A saw mentioned somewhere on TW that people have used spring compressors like this one. https://www.amazon.com/OTC-6494-Clamshell-Spring-Compressor/dp/B0002SRHU6

I bought a clamshell style coil compressor from harbor freight for swapping coils on OEM bolt in Bilsteins on friends trucks and I hate it, had to cut it up and modify it to work and it still sucked.

Yeah I might just find a place to do it for cheap - or wait and see if anyone wants to trade 16's for my 14's. I'm guessing 550 lb 16" spring would be too light - too bad there's a guy selling a pair of Kings for $20.

There's a guy selling some for $100 - a little pricy imo. Does anyone know what the K6 stands for at the end of on if his spring specs printed on the spring?

You can use smaller ratchet straps for a little bit of compression, just keep the strap hooks on the outside and down by the shaft seat side so you can fit the coil over the body and then get the straps out easily.

Use the threaded coil retainer to preload the coil a little once it's on the shock to take the tension off the straps before you unlatch them.
