Big Sky and Green Hills - Montana in May 2018

Just spent a few days in the Montana, camping in the Little Belt Mountains (L&C NF), just north of the Crazies, and then westward to Deer Lodge, Philipsburg and ultimately Drummond.

I'm planning a MT trip for the fall. Your thread is inspiring.

 

Awesome - have fun! Was there last fall (and hit snow) so headed back this fall as well (hopefully to sunny skies). It's a great place - so much area to explore.

Almost done with the next day's write-up and photos, should get it posted this afternoon.

 

Did you visit the Flathead lake area? That' where I plan to make base camp then run out from there every day for a week or two...

 

Sounds great, I'd love to visit that area. We were east and south of that this trip though, due to snow.

 

I'll try to post pictures after my trip.

And here's the last installment of our Memorial Day trip to Montana. Lot's of fun on the trails, some unexpected excitement on pavement, and we ended with an amazing campsite - 270+ degree views and great weather. Was an awesome trip with a great set of folks.
