It's funny how much has changed in tacoma sales since the first 2 years the new gen was out. I remember getting mine in 2016 and the salesman could pretty much say F off if you didn't like it as is because somone would come in and buy it the next day lol. We had almost zero bargaining power in those days when they were flying off the lots... I couldn't even get them to give me mats after I got maybe 2k off the sticker price lol.

I hear ya, I bought my '17 this January when the 18's were coming out. I saved $4,000 and had the tri-fold soft top Tonneau cover, Pro Grill and Tub mats thrown in, and 4 winter tires & rims. (no sensors).

    It paid to wait....

Dirt showing, pretty much on any color, is very dependent on the color of the dirt. It either blends a bit or contrasts.

That includes all types of dirt, from pollens to air borne dirt to dirt/dirty water on the road (which is almost always grey, due to tire particles on the pavement).

No paint color affects the 'hardness' related to chips and scratches. They all will, with the same ease.

Seeing fairly minor swirls and scratches is more a function of light reflection, which varies with color. Generally lighter is better. Non metallic is better. So a light non metallic is the best at hiding things those.

It's great at hiding dirt. No need to wash due to dust and dirt. What does tend to show up are bug splats.

It hides dirt but not scratches. I got a few the length of my truck. They might be more noticeable on a different color but that's hard to say.

QS in SoCal hides the dust very well. I won't wash it for a month easily unless rains come.

Inferno is the sexiest taco color. Quicksand is the meanest looking.

I wanted inferno or quicksand. Wife HATED inferno. Quicksand it is!

Id say over all mine hides dirt fairly well and looks great when clean and still pretty damn good when a lil dirty. Also I haven't noticed any swirl marks. I do think this paint seems really soft though. Dirt and metal debris seem to get embedded in the paint quite easily, pin stripes are a given from the slightest twig and with only 10,000 miles on my rig I have quite a few rock chips down to the metal on both the hood and sides if my vehicle. These things may be common with the other colors as well but I don't have any reference. I love Quicksand though!

Mine has spent every day for the last two years outside, paint still looks great.

It rained last night so you can see water on the horizontal surfaces. You can also see mud spray in the wheel wells, on the black fender flares and sliders but no mud on the paint.

It's been at least 4 weeks since the last wash, looks like I could probably go another 4 weeks.20180623_080238.jpg

Every week somebody asks me about the color of my truck and tell me how much they like it.
