More than 39"s on the front with 32" tires is a bit ecessive and will leave you with little down travel. Hopefully is settles a bit for you.

It's taller than i expected, but when i 4x4 swap it should add a little weight. Plus at some point bumpers, winch and headache rack

Anybody think I should run the 10mm trim packer with the 883s, or just wait to see what I get for lift?

My truck is a reg cab, but with a shell and the 3rd leaf from the top removed, my rear end sits about 39.5" fender to ground with 33's. IIRC hub to fender was around 24-24.5". This is probably around 2" of lift in the rear over stock.

I am behind on getting pictures & details up (sorry soon!) but I went 883s in the front with no bumper yet and i got about 3.5 inches of lift. I did a full dakar (but no aal) and got about 3.5 in the back as well. Almost level front to rear, front it slightly higher. A few hundred miles in and hasnt settled. hoping to get a bumper and winch on the front in the next 2 months. CVs dont look super happy but seem fine for now

So while I await my lower ball joints from Camelback to arrive... been reviewing as many youtube vids I can find on OME kit installs. I noticed one used a silicone lubricant spray on the rear poly shock bushings when prepping to install the rear shocks. I had asked Wheelers about needing any type of silicone paste or lube for their poly bushings - they said it wasn't necessary. I have only done the rack bushings and I used the paste for those. Just wanted to be sure. Thoughts?

Very nice! Ride is stiff, but not that bad. It is a truck after all. What bumper are you going with? I cant make my mind up. Was initially thinking All Pro Baja or Band Lands. I like the tube style with some finishing plates style but I have been starting to appreciate the clean finished look of the ARB. Also dont have a welder and have to do some frame modifications on the 99 almost every after market bumper

    I did this:

no lube necessary, and didn't bother with the pipe clamp.

Trail gear and ARB are bolt on. I installed an ARB on my 1999. I decided to make mods to the end caps, but according to ARB it’s not necessary. There is a hole that has to be drilled with the ARB, but it’s not that bad.

That’s a lot of front lift. I just ordered 883s, and I have an ARB. I was hoping for more around 2.5”. Maybe when I get a winch it’ll drop a tad.

    Help.

Just got around to installing my Dakars on my 2004 double cab. Easy install but there is a creaking noise in the rear like something is loose. i double checked everything so now i have a few questions. Creaking only happens when driving. When i have my son jump up/down and rock the truck back and forth, side to side while i am under the truck no creaking.

Stock 2004 Double Cab. Front has 1" levers. Rear had 1" lift blocks which i removed when i installed the Dakars. Shackles are not stock but are just replacements for stock.

    - Used the bushings that came from Wheelers. Should i have lubricated them? Could the creaking be the bushings slipping since i did not grease them?
    - Lift was WAY more than i expected. I am going to need rear shocks. Stock ones are at their limit. Since we jumped up/down and heard nothing do not think this is the problem but will replace them anyways.
    - Are all 5100's the same? Going to go with them but how do you tell which ones to get? Seems like there should be different lengths.

    Thanks for the help.

So does it squeak or clunk? Cause something loose would be more of a clunk or click I would think.

I greased the bushings when I installed mine. No creaks, squeaks, or groans.

I would install nitro chargers for those dakars. If you don't want the nitrochargers, either get similar length extended/collapse length 5100s or there are threads on how to measure for a shock. Then order whatever length you need. There are shops that have lots of different sizes of shocks .

Edit: any particular speed or road surface thT this happens at?

The sounds is between a creek and a clunk. I could see it being urethane slipping as the shackle rotated but we are talking smooth road and under normal acceleration and driving so very little rotation. But when we jump in the bed which is WAY more compression then driving nothing. The sounds happen at low speeds. Under 30mph on normal roads. I have not taken it any faster than that.

check the driveshaft center/carrier bearing, it most likely needs replaced.

Hey all, got the lift, wheels and tires installed.

    Truck: 1999 Tacoma, xtra cab, 4x4, v6, 132k miles

Lift: OME kit, 883 coils, dakars (no aal), OME nitrocharger sport shocks.
Tires: Toyo Open Country ATII's, 265/75/r16
Wheels: American Racing Baja AR172, black, 16x8

Before: (corner, center hub to top of wheel well, ground to wheel well)
    Driver front, 21inches, 34 1/3
    Passenger front, 21, 34
    Driver rear, 21, 34
    Passenger rear, 21, 34

    After:
    Driver front, 24 5/8, 39 3/4
    Passenger front, 24 5/8, 39 3/4
    Driver rear, 24 1/2, 34 3/8
    Passenger rear, 24 1/2, 34 3/8

Basically 3.5 inches a lift overall, which is about an inch more than expected. Hoping that addition of a new front bumper and winch bring it down slightly in the front and soften the ride. The ride with 883's is a lift rough with no extra weight up front but not bad, hasnt bothered me. CV's aren't looking great, another reason I am hoping it relaxes in the front with weight. About 400 miles in, I haven't seen any change in the ride height.

Looks good, I'm running the same setup w/5100s on a double cab. Almost 4 inches of lift after install last month. It has broken in and lowered about 1/2 to 3/4 all the way around. Still sits perfectly level. I'm a bit lighter up front since its a prerunner but not for long. Bumpers and winch going on in the future one I get the 4x4 manual swap completed

Wow. Similar to my truck except I’ve got the 4cyl and an ARB. I ordered the same setup. Be interesting to see my results.

I know it came up 3.5”. I wonder how much of that is because your old suspension had sagged.
