I haven't heard of that as a 2nd gen only issue. I don't think our alts are up to that task either. Stock that is.

How do you use the hi lift on your set up? Do you have sliders and bumpers?

Funny you posted this. I lifted my truck 2" and I'm getting some vibrations. I am suspect of the carrier bearing. Mine has 1/2" of movement as well. As I understand thats totally normal. If it was rigid, it couldnt "soak up" some of the shock coming from the rear end and would send it straight to the tranny, which would be bad. Im gonna try a 3/8" spacer for mine to try and drop it back to a stockish angle.

I have a bumper I’m taking to powder coat this week along with the rack, I was waiting to take them until after I got those holes drilled. 5EAACD25-52BD-4EF6-869F-4EC2406C928C.jpg

I hope to get sliders here in the next couple months as well!

The stock alt will charge at higher than 13.8v which is what 2nd and 3rd gen alts mac out at unless you trick then.

All I'm saying is that those must have some thing like the dc/dc for their dual battery system to get the most out of AGM types.

I hear yeah. Well if you do end up buying the whole kit, I'll buy the leaf springs bushings off of ya. I need to replace mine eventually.

I recently put on new tires & replaced coilovers & UCA/ball joints so i needed an alignment right away but I'll need another one in a month or so. Not sure if there's a Firestone in your area but they got that lifetime alignment dealio & there's a $20 off coupon right now. Their policy is 1 alignment every 6months or 6K mi for the life of the vehicle as long as you own it. I went to Sears & got the 1yr alignment package, unlimited for 1 yr with no time or mileage restrictions.

Is the carrier bearing pretty easy to replace, like do you need any special tools? Looking to replace mine soon but never done one before.
