200,000 Mile Club (1st Gen Tacomas)

Almost feel like a fraud posting this, i bought the truck with 250k on it already! But what the hell , i do want to be part of the high mile club. Ive always veiwed the miles ive put on a vehicle in a positive way, the places it has taken me and the memories or income it has provided me. The more the better.
That has put me at odds with the majority of people i know.
Miles are bad, very bad! I even know to guys who saved for years for there dream cars and literally never drive em !
I will never get that kind of thinking,

I’ve owned 3 first gen Tacomas and all of them have had well over 200,000 miles. They were all the 3.4L engine and still had plenty of power and reliability. My current one has 240k and tows our 17ft center console boat without a problem. My brother has a 2000 Tundra with almost 300k and he has practically driven across the country with it. My other brother just bought a 97 4Runner with 250k. None of these trucks have every had any major problems at all. The only thing I would be careful about is frame rust. We always check underneath the truck for rust before we buy

 

I'm there...04dcsb trd.this one is in line for a frame replacement....ill call it its second life.

 

That’s awesome. Mine is covered until December, loads of surface rust and corrosion, hoping Mother Nature can help me out...

 

I haven't read much of this thread but these first gens r awesome I got mine bout 3 years ago and I just hit 300k this week

 

192.5k, getting close! It'll happen soon, as I've put on 32.5k in the last 11months driving all over North America with our camper in the bed. Truck runs strong!

Thanks! We love it. Its a Four Wheel Camper. It pops up about 3' & has a 2 burner stove, fridge, 12gal H2O tank & house battery powered by 200w solar on the roof. Rad for the wife, two dogs & I.

 

Rolled over 230,000 on the Forth.

 

99 4x4 ex cab 275,000+ miles

 

Officially passed 200k

 

2001 TRD 4X4 XTRACAB.. . Still brandnew

 

Heading out on a 10-day road trip tomorrow. Will roll over 200,000 on the way home and never have a second thought or worry about if the truck can make it or not. Solid.

 

I always forget my beater is that old...

265K and a 4 banger, supercharged happily, rev limiter tamer in its free time

98 Tacoma runs and pulls great 298K miles manual interior in great shape.

i have a few mod i'd like to do in the near future.

 

Mines getting ready to hit 238k, 5 speed transmission has 300k on it (swapped from auto, got it for $200 lol).

 

What supercharger for your 4 cylinder? Looking for more power for my 2.7 and had pretty much resigned myself to TDI swap

 

It's an original TRD supercherger for the 2.4/2.7...
