I forget how much the whole system takes, something like 12qts or so but if you're going to do a full flush you need to buy extra to do the running flush, probably like 15qts. If just doing the pan drain & fill, it's 4 qts. I just did the pan drain & fill 2 days ago.

No more taco life for me
super easy. i imagine you already have the trans cooler, if not a great time to install one.

do a full flush. honestly, it takes little time.

buy two or three of these from Home Depot.. pre marked buckets..$3 each or so

    buy one of these

    and one of these

    and 4 of these

Drain the pan into a bucket. Replace gasket and reinstall bolt.

Fill pan through dipstick of equal amount drained.

Follow the top hose out of the tranny to the radiator or the trans cooler
    Slide07.jpg
pull that hose off the radiator/trans cooler and put it into a bucket...
have someone turn the truck on, and watch fluid get pumped out. i did 1 quart at a time. the premarked buckets will make your life really easy here.
after every quart pumped, replace a quart through the dipstick.

rinse and repeat until you get satisfactory results.. towards 12-14 qts use a new bucket so you can put the drain hose on the side and get a visual of new fluid coming out.

this is what i did a few weeks ago. no problems. super easy. below you can see i have drips of the fluid that came out and then the fluid after flushing.
