A little of this and a little of that.
I was fixing to post about a craftsman (Sears not that Lowe’s [stanley] branded mess) package deal when I saw this posting. I figured I abide the woodworking roll-call and make my presence known.

Hey all! Some nice looking projects! Made me smile to come across this thread.

Been working in wood shops for the past 14 years, have had my own biz for the past 3. Hate it some days but most of the time im stoked I get to work with my hands everyday. It’s humbling to work within the limitations of a natural material, it offers so many possibilities if you just follow a few rules (and don’t break them!)

    Woodworker’s seem to love Tacoma’s

Just got into the shop for the day, it’s relatively clean so thought I’d post a pic of my setup.

Yes, yes, spent a lot of time picking the right tools for my purposes, the legacy cnc in the background is the newest addition, could use a full size but too good a deal to pass up.

A few additions to make me feel cool.
I dabble a bit. Made this triangle shelf for a co-workers wife to put her rock collection on. I also make bottle openers with magnets in them out of only wine barrel staves. And last year got ambitious and made a rocking char. Made my son a display for this lego people.

If anyone’s interested in vintage hand tools, here are two items that I recently restored:

    1) Stanley Sweetheart No. 65 block plane w/ all original parts.

A few more things I have built. The bottle openers are cool, I use a 200lb magnet in the back so they catch about 50 caps. They seem to be a hit with everyone I give one to but they end up costing to much to make a profit on if I were to sell them.

Hi everyone. I really enjoy seeing the awesome things you create with your skills.

I’ve always loved working with wood and making things but I never had “turned” wood. I finally decided to take a wood turning class. I gotta tell you it was fantastic and I can’t wait to do more. :yay:

Any suggestions on a good wood lathe? I’ve been looking at a Laguna?

    Here is my first bowl....

I have a shop fox W1704 I picked off ebay. I also have an excelsior from Rockler. It's the same as the Central Machinery brand from HF, just painted black. I also have the bed extension for it and a G3 chuck. Both are nice machines for small projects.

I really like the Grizzly G0800 after seeing what Kyle Toth does with it but I think it is overkill for anything I would ever do.
