Hey guys I’m new and glad to be apart of this forum. I know this question has probley been asked a 1000 times already. I have a 2017 Tacoma TRD sport 4x4, and it has 265/70/17’s on it. I’m fixing to change wheels and tires. I want to go with the Fuel Assault black matte wheels, and I’m not sure about the tire size? I don’t want the wheels sticking out past the fender, but I want a good looking tire that won’t rub. Any suggestions? And what rim size do you know what to order for the tire?

I just bought some Michelin defenders. My stock tires were 245/75/16. I upgraded to 265/70/16. They are probably the perfect choice for me. They are wider and a tad taller. I used the tire calculator to help me decide and it really helped me make my choice. I can feel the difference in acceleration due to the heavier tire but that can be expected. Any bigger tire for me, would just not be needed. It’s an individual choice. You sacrifice mpg the bigger and heavier you go. The 265 width don’t stick outside the fender coverage.

Ok, thanks for the info. I’ll probably just stick with that size as well

I've just gone from a 16 SR5 to an 18 Sport. It may be totally in my head but I feel like I can feel the wider tire. Have you noticed any change in mileage when you changed sizes?

I always ck my mileage but I haven’t run through a tank of gas yet with these new bigger tires. I know my mpg will change, cause it’s a heavier tire. 5 lbs each, so it will require more energy to roll those babies. Long distance, may not suffer to much because you have the momentum going, but in town driving will take a hit for sure.
