I get 22mpg average around the oil fields of west Texas where I cruise around 55-60 and take a lot of unspaved roads. With the ac blasting full blast because it’s 108 outside.
On the highway and interstate at 75-80its 17.5-18.5 dependent on wind favorability.

Those numbers didn't come about until around 3K miles. I just hope they don't fall off with miles/time.

Glad to hear I can expect this to happen consistently. :)

I'm really disappointed with the scratches. I have never wiped the lens with my hand or anything that was dry. I only use microfiber and a cleaner on plastics for this very reason. Guess I'll be replacing it later when it gets worse.

Funny because I drove my Tacoma home from the dealership Saturday and my one complaint was the dash cluster looked like it was attacked by raccoons. Haven’t tried cleaning it yet.

Shit I'm on 33s (and will go up to 35s) and drive like I DGAF, wonder how much more I'm spending on gas over stock. Then again I don't drive often and just hitting 10k on my '17 that I bought in 2016.

Good luck. I clean with a microfiber, doesn't really help. Like the paint on this truck, simply breathing on the plastic causes it to scratch. Wait til you get dust behind the panel, that'll drive you mad .

Great write up! You didn’t mention, auto or manual? That does also make a big difference. Manu can get a little more due to neutral coasting here n there and lower shift points based on driver preference to do so...

Just for kicks, you should try the same tests, with 91 octane. I accidentally put it in my tank last week and didn’t change my driving techniques or environment as far as city highway and highway traffic, and noticed it a tad better. Not faster but seems a little better. I too am in SoCal. Found it odd because some say there is no change but I’m the guy who resets his A and B odo meters to compare mileage from previous to current tank refills and watch like a hawk. However, there is so many variables I can’t see it getting better than 24 mpg under best driving conditions...or else toyota would’ve marketed it that way which is unrealistic. Hard enough for most to even get what they currently rated them for.

About 250 miles / week @ 80-85 mph on Southern California freeways = about 20-21 mpg. I'm at about two months of ownership and about 1,500 miles I think

I have never gone by what the vehicle's computer says the MPG is. I used to calculate it by hand in small notebooks for many years, but for the last 8 years or so, I have been using various smartphone apps. I currently use Fuelly, you can see the latest in my .sig.

I live up in the Sierra Nevada foothills near Sacramento, CA, and work down in the valley, so I have 1700' of elevation changes when I drive to work each day, even though it's only ~20 miles each way. And of course I live only 70 miles from lake Tahoe, so I also go there a fair number of times. With all that mountain driving, I'll never get very good mileage, no matter how I drive. I'm somewhat happy that I get as good mileage as I do.
