I have no idea what is going on in this thread, but I have a few rotopax containers that I have been very happy with. I do not have any fish though.

Theres gas available inside BBNP. I've never needed to carry any extra gas while there.

It will take at least 3 or so Rotopax’s to get to the next gas station on AK-11 Dalton Hwy - where there’s 244 miles between gas stations.

Off road in Death Valley can get you as far as 40 miles or so away from the nearest station, there are more remote places than that on the highways in Wyoming and Nevada, but for Death Valley, the problem isnt distance so much as having to drive slow on washboard and rough roads, gas mileage sucks doing that and if its summer, you are adding running the AC on high. Thats why so many European tourists die out there, they love going there for the heat and isolation, but then the heat and isolation does them in.

Yup, always knew that. It was an outdoor cat mostly, supplemented the kibble we gave it with hunting gophers and such on its own. Beautiful jet black fur and yellow eyes, a mini panther for sure.

    Honestly, FUCK ROTOPAX.

I don't understand why people love them, I bought 2 of the 3-gallon versions for $200! Well on the first trip I filled them up 80% (as recommended) in Alpine (just outside of San Diego) around 3pm, drove my truck to my office in El Cajon (15 miles away and only about 1,000ft difference in elevation) and by noon the next day my rotopax was leaking gas ALL OVER MY TRUCK. It ripped open right at the seem (obvious weak point).

At first I wasn't too frustrated as I know shit happens, but when I contacted their customer service and they gave me the cold shoulder thats when I wrote them off, fuckers wouldn't honor warranty, it was my first time using them! I showed them a receipt that wasn't even two weeks old and they wouldn't honor the warranty, called it "user error" for not venting them enough. So now with my remaining POS Rotopax I have to pull over every 20 miles coming down from mammoth to vent the pieces of shit so they don't leak all over my truck again.

Also I've only ever used them to rescue motorcycles that ran out of gas on the side of the highway.

Mine don't leak, but the twist noozle is poo. It was a pain in the ass to add fuel to my truck on the beach. No gas stations where I go so I bought two of the 4 gallon units. Nice and all but poor design for the vent and pour tube.IMG_20180609_162654047.jpg

Yeah, I’ve never been fond of keeping gas in plastic containers either. I use eagle safety cans- self venting and DOT approved. I also keep them in a seperate leak proof container in case we flip:

I just want to know how many guys actually use their rotos out of necessity. Making yourself use them is one thing buy actually traveling enough miles with no accessbility is entirely different.

...hence my signature. Shit drives me nuts

    ^^ This ^^

I've been using these type of containers for nearly 30 years with no leaks, fumes or tip-overs. I see no reason to use anything else.
