    Hello,

Just brain storming here. Need input. In my area the trd off road is a decent price. Why would I pay for the trd offroad full price at 33500 in my area probably near 35k with tax. I could buy a v6 sr for 25 to 26k most and take my extra money and put 10k worth of mods!! I'm going to lift and change tire at bare min on offroad trd and change exhaust anyways. I could pretty much build a dream truck with 10k. Yes it would not be trd approved but it will actually probably be as good if not way better. I could add snorkel, 33 tires, lift 4 inch, and have money for other things. A camper top and bull bar. Plus a kick arse stero. What are your thoughts.

Seeing what your taste is like in mods, and the direction you want I would say get the SR.

I Love My STOCK off-road!!! and I love getting ahead on payments

I'd go with the Trd without question. It's nice to have the options already installed, you can change them out later but you'll be starting from a much better equipped truck

That alone pretty much seals the deal. Just be careful you're not overlooking something that would be prohibitive to add back if you really wanted it. (I doubt you are, just pointing it out)

Since TRD is marketing fluff, I'm not even sure 'approved' would mean. It's just a sticker that makes people happy. Because they saw a Toyota race truck on TV, and think they are driving a street version.

Someone will shout resale value. If you pay 30% less, and the resale value ratio is the same, who cares if it doesn't resale for TRD pricing? Plus, once signicantly modded, resale starts to slide anyway, or at best, your niche buyers get smaller.

If you are a long term keeper, I go for the build what you want. If you want a new truck everytime the color pallet changes, thanks for stimulating the economy!

Unless you can't live without any of the gimmicky options, I vote to save the 10k and build your own! Most of those things can be added later for much cheaper with the 10k you're saving.
