    Don't forget:

....why does my truck take 12 quarts for an oil change?

....why does my truck blow black smoke when I'm on the accelerator?

I can't see a diesel ever being in a Taco, the price premium would be too high.

People would still buy it. Look at how much money people throw at TRD PROs.

    salesman is an idiot.
why would toyota suddenly invest in a diesel SUV when every other SUV they make have been getting hybrid?

Future of the market is in hybrids not diesel.

We'll sooner see a hybrid taco or 4runner than diesel.

all this time I was thinking my neighbour with a powerwagon was just a mall crawling douche like the jeep guys that put a winch on their jeep but are petrified to go anywhere off pavement.

He's still probably a mall crawler but hey I thought he did that winch after market lol.
I don't look at trucks I won't be buying so never knew

Given a few european countries have said no more diesel in 2020 or 2024, and with all the shit VW fucked up with the TDI, your salesman is definitely smoking some serious crack.

they already have hybrid camry, why would they suddenly go backwards and go back to diesel and not full EV? The future is EV not diesel.

FFS, there'd HAVE to be an oil burner subforum. The 3rd Gen forum just couldn't take it.

It's obviously a crazy rumor but then again there's the factory snorkel option now so perhaps Toyota for once is trying to stay ahead of the curve by bringing some of the global stuff here. Ford is having success with the Ranger against the Hilux overseas and when it comes here perhaps Toyota is worried they'll actually make a dent.

I mean, the Chevy Colorado and now the Ford F-150 have a diesel option. It COULD happen, but who knows. It would be nice to get a little bit more engine for towing. I mean, Ford has the F-150 towing more and they have models that are either the same or better MPG. Don't get me wrong, I do LOVE my Taco, but these are some nice options that Toyota could (and in my opinion should) give us.

Fox doesn't have a clue!! The salesman/sales manager I dealt with were horrible.

I tried to give them my business but they were not willing to find me the off road in manual that I wanted for a fair price.

    How is their service department?

TRD Pros seem to all be under MSRP in the Upstate NY area from what I have seen. Driver Village has a Cavalry Blue in stock that I saw.

you really think that they would take a vehicle that uses regular gas and make it a diesel that has you put higher priced fuel.....don't think the public would go for that

I'll be the first to applaud big T if this happens. But I'm not holding my breath. When's the last time they were ahead of the curve? MkI MR2? 30 years ago...

But I agree-Ranger is going to be a fierce competitor. Even back before they pulled the plug in US, they had a huge market share. They once had the majority only to be taken over when the 2ng Gen Tacoma's came out. But the new Ranger is going to have Toyota sweating in the US.
