I'm real  and yes I can get a better deal for you.
I won't be back at work until Tuesday to set it up though.

Thanks Mike, just put the order in for the X20-10k. Now all i need is the bumper.

@Roody when do you think you'll have the chance to install? I'm waiting to install mine until I get some things done with the new bumper. I'll be reinforcing the frame where it bolts to the bumper, but I think it'll happen when winter breaks.

FWIW don’t NEED to wait to reinforce your bumper. @Lots2Learn58 didnt have reinforcements with his 12k winch and ran blacks at AOAA using the shit out of his winch, and his truck is fine.

It’s definitely a good idea to get them done soon, but there are plenty of scenarios where a winch is handy without putting a huge load on the front of the truck

Gotcha. I didn't think it was completely necessary, but people have said to do it. I think I'll err on the side of caution. I don't plan on installing the winch now anyway. Too freaking cold! I also have to make the 2012-2015 bumper I have look like a 2005-2011. @Skell and I have a date for all this! I guess the reinforcement is cheap insurance

I'll do the same weekend then. Let me know when you plan it. Probably easier for @Skell to knock us both out in the same time frame. We could also install our winches together as long as Tony isn't busy in his shop.

The bumper and modifications we have slated for @Roody will probably take a while. I don't think tackling both projects in the same day is going to be feasible.

Ohhh. Yeah I forget he has a T4R. Ok then I'll see where I'm at next month with the house rehab. Or I'll sneak away to your shop on a weekend day and just get it done.

Damn I like the looks of that on steelies with skinny tires!

How did the winch end up working? Im thinking the x2o 10k isnt worth the extra $100

Thanks, wish the steelies/skinnies setup weighed less but it works well otherwise

Haven't put the winch on yet, still sitting in a box on the floor...

Trying to resurrect this thread to hear fron some tacoma owners who own this. I just bought the 9.5k smitty winch with synthetic line and got a smoking deal It was recommended time and time again. I just read and see that this is supposed to have 650cca to operate but my truck is only factory rated for 585cca.Did you all have to upgrade batteries to use these?I am planning my bumper/winch install this week so I guess if I do indeed need to get a stronger battery I will just not hook it up until I get a new one and install it. Thanks for any help i can get.

Loads of people run the winch off of the factory battery. You’ll just prematurely kill it off. My battery needed upgrading anyways since my current one was on its way out, so I got a deep cycle group 31 battery.

I run it on the 24F no-name the used car stealership dropped in roughly 1.5-2 years ago. I have made a few pulls with it, and it did the job. But I notice the voltage is around 0.7-0.9 volts lower after the pull. And it takes a day or two of driving to get it back up to nominal. That cant be good for the battery, but hopefully the dual Northstars I have on order will prevent that whenever I get them installed.
